wizard101 wintertusk crafted gear
Of course! Heres a comprehensive guide to the Wintertusk Crafted Gear, widely considered the first "must-have" crafted set in Wizard101 and a massive power spike for level 56 wizards. Why It's So Important (The "Wintertusk Hump") Before Wintertusk, crafted gear was often optional. The gear from Mount Olympus (Zeus/Senator) or Waterworks (at level 60) was usually better. The Wintertusk set changes that, providing stats that rival or even surpass the level 60 Waterworks gear for critical roles like Damage and Accuracy. It's a game-changer for tackling the rest of Celestia and early Zafaria. Key Features of the Wintertusk Crafted Gear Level Requirement: 56 Primary Stats: Extremely high Damage% and Critical Rating for its level. Secondary Stats: Good Accuracy% (often solving pip conversion issues), solid Health, and some Power Pip and Block. Comparison: It trades some Resist and Pierce from the Waterworks gear for much higher Damage and Critical. Many players use a mix (e.g., Wintertusk Hat/Athame with Waterworks Robe/Boots) for a balanced setup. The Gear Pieces (By School) The set consists of a Hat, Robe, and Boots. The stats follow a similar pattern for all schools, with school-specific damage and critical values. Sample Stats (Using the Ice School Set as an Example): Piece Name Key Stats (Ice Example) : : : Hat Frostbound Helm +21% Ice Damage, +65 Critical, +10% Ice Accuracy, +335 Health Robe Frostbound Wrap +25% Ice Damage, +80 Critical, +7% Power Pip, +450 Health Boots Frostbound Boots +15% Ice Damage, +50 Critical, +6% Universal Accuracy, +265 Health TOTAL +61% Ice Damage, +195 Critical, +16% Ice Acc, +6% Universal Acc Other Schools: The damage and critical numbers vary by school (e.g., Fire and Storm get higher damage values, Ice and Life get more health/resist). How to Get It: The Crafting Quest Start the Quest: At level 56, go to Sudrilund in Wintertusk. Look for Lydia Greyrose (inside the hall). The Quest Chain: She will give you the quest "Bear's Necessities" (or similar). This starts a chain where you learn the recipes and gather reagents. Learn the Recipes: You will be sent to crafters in Sudrilund, Hrundle Fjord, and Vestrilund to learn the recipes for your school's hat, robe, and boots. You must have learned the previous Wintertusk crafting quest recipe before the next crafter will talk to you. Crafting Tier: This is Grandmaster Artisan crafting. You must be a Grandmaster Artisan to craft them. Reagents & Farming Locations This is the grind. The recipes require reagents unique to Wintertusk. Reagent Primary Farming Location Notes : : : Frost Flowers Hrundle Fjord & Vestrilund Harvest from large, sparkling flowers. Very common. Sunstone Ore nodes in Vestrilund & Swordroll Also found in other Wintertusk areas. Mine ore. Lively Vines Vestrilund Harvest from vine patches on the ground. Pristine Vials Defeat Bosses in Wintertusk Krokopatra in Vestrilund is a popular farm. Also from Grendelweed. Golden Pearls Fishing in Wintertusk (especially Polarian Shipwreck) The biggest bottleneck. Use Winnow Ice spell. Also rarely from bosses. Stone Blocks / Deep Mushrooms Various Usually stocked from earlier crafting. Buy in Bazaar if needed. Aether Transmute or farm bosses Pro Tip for Golden Pearls: Fish in the Polarian Shipwreck house (bought from the Crown Shop) or any Ice School house. Use the Winnow Ice spell (bought from the Fishing vendor in the Commons) to filter for only Ice Fish, which have a higher chance of giving Pearls. Is It Worth It? The Verdict Absolutely, for most wizards. For Storm, Fire, and Myth: An essential upgrade. The massive damage and critical boost make questing significantly faster. For Ice and Life: Also highly recommended. The damage boost is substantial, and the extra health is great for tanking/supporting. For Balance and Death: Very strong, but Balance/Death often benefit more from the universal resist of Waterworks. A mix is ideal. For PvP at this level: It was once the meta. It's still very strong, but the lack of resist can be a liability. What to Do After? At level 60, you'll get the Waterworks gear (more resist, pierce, power pip). Most end-game setups from levels 60-100 use a mix: Classic "WW/WT" Mix: Wintertusk Hat & Athame for damage/critical, Waterworks Robe & Boots for resist/power pip. Full Wintertusk: If you prefer aggressive, fast gameplay. Final Advice: Start collecting Golden Pearls and Pristine Vials as soon as you enter Wintertusk. The crafting quest is a rite of passage and one of the most rewarding gear grinds in the early game. Good luck

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
