wizard101 tartarus
Of course! Here's a comprehensive guide to Tartarus, the iconic end-game dungeon from Wizard101's first arc. What is Tartarus? Tartarus is a massive, challenging dungeon located in Aquila (accessible through the Cyclops Lane or the world gate). It was introduced as the final pinnacle of difficulty for players at the original level cap of Level 90 (though it can be attempted at Level 90+). Its primary purpose was to farm for: The best Legendary (Level 90) gear before the next world (Azteca). Powerful Athame and Ring from the final boss. The highly sought-after Hades Mount (a rare drop). Dungeon Structure: Two Halves Tartarus is famously long and is divided into two main sections. The Labyrinth This is a sprawling, maze-like area filled with four mini-bosses (each guarding a sigil). You must defeat all four to unlock the door to the second half. The mini-bosses are: Cerberus (Fire), Gladiator Dimachaerus (Myth), Cronus (Storm), and The Furies (A trio of Balance, Ice, and Storm). Strategy Tip: Teams often split up to tackle these bosses simultaneously to save time, then regroup. The Underworld After the Labyrinth, you face a gauntlet of powerful bosses leading to the final fight. Key bosses here include Zeus (Storm) and Poseidon (Ice), who must be defeated to face Hades. Finally, you reach the throne room of Hades himself. The Final Boss: Hades Hades is a Fire school boss with two phases, making him one of the most complex fights in the game at the time. Phase 1: Hades (Solo) He has around 20,000 health and powerful fire attacks. The key mechanic is his "Judgment" spell. Every few rounds, he will put a counter on a random wizard (a number like 3, 4, or 5). When that counter reaches 0, he casts a devastating attack on that wizard. Strategy: The targeted wizard must shield or the team must heal through the Judgment hit. It's a DPS race to defeat him before the judgments overwhelm you. Phase 2: Hades & His Minions After defeating Phase 1, he resurrects with about 10,000 health and is joined by two minions: Dionysus (Life) and Ares (Fire). Dionysus is the priority target. He will spam heals on Hades (like Rebirth), making the fight impossible if he's not taken out first. Ares hits hard with fire attacks. Strategy: The standard approach is: 1. Blade up quickly. 2. Kill Dionysus (Life minion) immediately. 3. Kill Ares (Fire minion). 4. Focus all attacks on Hades. Notable Loot & Rewards Tartarus was the gear standard for entering Azteca. Hades' Gear: The Robe of Malistaire's Ire was often rivaled by Hades' fire/storm robes. His Hades' Hat and Hades' Boots were best-in-slot for many schools. Cronus's Gear: The Alpha and Omega Ring (from Cronus) and the Blade of the Felled Titan (Athame from Hades) were absolute best-in-slot for almost every school for multiple worlds, sometimes all the way to Darkmoor (Level 100). Mount: The Hades' Cerberus mount (a 3-person mount) is a very rare drop from the final chest. Modern Context & Tips for Running It Today Power Creep: With the level cap now at 170, a max-level wizard can easily solo Tartarus. The gear is now cosmetic or for completionists. Team Finder: If you're at-level, use the Team Up kiosk. Be prepared for a long run (60-90 minutes). Key Strategy (For At-Level): Have a Life or Death wizard for healing/support. Have a consistent hitter (Storm, Fire, Myth) with strong AoE. Communication is key, especially for the Judgment phase in the Hades fight. Always kill the Life minion (Dionysus) first in Phase 2! Is it Worth Farming Now? For Stats: No. The athame and ring from Cronus/Hades are outclassed by later gear, but they hold nostalgic value. For Cosmetics/Achievements: Yes! The gear looks awesome, and you might get the rare mount. In-Game Lore Tartarus is the dungeon of the dead, ruled by Hades. You venture there to confront him after he empowers the Titans in the Aquila storyline, seeking to claim his power and prevent him from threatening the Spiral. In short, Tartarus is a classic, foundational dungeon in Wizard101 history. While its gear is no longer meta, experiencing its challenging mechanics and epic scale is a rite of passage for any wizard.

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
