Determining the hardest RPG depends on what you consider "difficult"whether it's brutal combat, complex mechanics, punishing progression, or unfair design. However, here are some of the most notoriously challenging RPGs ever made: Dark Souls Series / Elden Ring (FromSoftware) - Why? Relentless combat, minimal hand-holding, and bosses that demand perfect timing and strategy. - Notable Entry: Dark Souls III (fast-paced) or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (parry-heavy). Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (ATLUS) - Why? Random encounters can wipe your party instantly, demon negotiation is RNG-heavy, and the True Demon Ending is brutally difficult. - Bonus: The Shin Megami Tensei series in general is harder than Persona. Wizardry Series (Sir-Tech) - Why? Old-school dungeon crawlers with permadeath, labyrinthine dungeons, and unfair traps. - Notable Entry: Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna (you play as the final boss trying to escape your own dungeon). SaGa Series (Square Enix) - Why? Unforgiving mechanics, obscure progression, and battles that can spiral out of control. - Notable Entry: SaGa Frontier 2 (brutal difficulty spikes). The Dark Spire (Atlus, Nintendo DS) - Why? A throwback to Wizardry with brutal RNG, instant-death traps, and no mercy. Nioh 2 (Team Ninja) - Why? Faster and more complex than Dark Souls, with stamina management and relentless enemies. Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen (Capcom) - Why? The Bitterblack Isle DLC has some of the hardest RPG bosses ever (Daimon, Death). Baldurs Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (BioWare) - Why? High-level D&D mechanics with enemies that require meta-knowledge to beat. Pathologic 2 (Ice-Pick Lodge) - Why? Survival mechanics, time limits, and brutal storytelling make it mentally exhausting. Etrian Odyssey Series (ATLUS) - Why? Hardcore dungeon crawling where map-drawing and party composition are life-or-death. Honorable Mentions: Monster Hunter Series (if considered RPG-adjacent) Tales of Berseria (Unknown difficulty spike) Underrail (Fallout-like but harder) Lobotomy Corporation / Library of Ruina (Korean RPGs with insane difficulty) Final Verdict? If you want pure mechanical difficulty, go for SMT III: Nocturne or Wizardry. If you prefer skill-based combat, Dark Souls or Nioh 2. For old-school cruelty, The Dark Spire or Wizardry IV. Would you like recommendations based on a specific type of difficulty?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
