Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

EVE Online and Star Citizen are both ambitious space-themed games, but they differ significantly in gameplay, design, and development philosophy. Heres a detailed comparison: Gameplay & Core Experience EVE Online (2003, CCP Games) - Sandbox MMO: Focuses on large-scale player-driven economies, politics, and warfare. - Single-Shard Universe: All players exist in one persistent world (server). - Spaceship-Centric: Players control ships rather than individual characters (first-person gameplay is limited). - Deep Strategy: Emphasizes fleet battles, industry, trading, and espionage. - Slow-Paced: Combat is tactical, with a steep learning curve. - Subscription-Based: Free-to-play with limitations; full access requires Omega subscription. Star Citizen (In Development, Cloud Imperium Games) - First-Person Space Sim: Blends space combat, FPS gameplay, and exploration. - Multiplayer & Persistent Universe: Still in alpha, but aims for a seamless, immersive experience. - Player Freedom: Walk inside ships, engage in ground combat, mine, trade, and more. - Fast-Paced Action: Dogfighting is more arcade-like (but with simulation elements). - Crowdfunded Model: No subscription; buy ships/items with real money (controversial monetization). Development & State of the Game EVE Online - Mature & Stable: Over 20 years old, with continuous updates (new expansions, balance changes). - Established Community: Known for massive battles (e.g., "The Bloodbath of B-R5RB"). - Less Graphical Fidelity: Older engine, but still visually impressive for its scale. Star Citizen - Still in Alpha: Began crowdfunding in 2012, with no official release date. - Ambitious but Unfinished: Promises seamless planetary landings, full persistence, and deep simulation. - Cutting-Edge Tech: Uses CryEngine/Lumberyard for stunning visuals and physics. - Controversial: Criticized for delays, feature creep, and expensive ship sales. Economy & Player Interaction EVE Online - Player-Driven Economy: Almost everything is built, traded, or destroyed by players. - Corporations & Alliances: Large-scale guilds control territory and resources. - Permadeath Mechanics: Losing a ship is permanent (insurance helps but doesnt fully cover losses). Star Citizen - Mixed Economy: Some NPC trading, but players can influence markets. - Co-op & PvP: Encourages group play but has griefing concerns (e.g., "piracy"). - Less Consequence (For Now): Death has penalties, but full persistence isnt implemented yet. Monetization EVE Online - Subscription-based (Omega clone status for full features). - PLEX (in-game currency purchasable with real money) for trading/subscription time. Star Citizen - No subscription, but ships/items sold for real money (some costing hundreds of dollars). - "Pay-to-Win" concerns due to ship sales advantage. Which One Should You Play? Play EVE Online if you want: - A deep, strategic MMO with a player-driven universe. - Large-scale politics and warfare. - A mature, stable game with a dedicated community. Play Star Citizen if you want: - A visually stunning, immersive space sim with FPS elements. - Early access to an evolving (but unfinished) universe. - More hands-on piloting and exploration. Final Verdict EVE Online is for hardcore MMO fans who enjoy long-term strategy. Star Citizen is for those who want a next-gen space experience but are okay with an alpha state. Would you like a deeper dive into any specific aspect?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
