xbox games like wizard101
Looking for Xbox games that capture the magic, school setting, turn-based combat, or social MMO feel of Wizard101? Here are some great options, broken down by what aspect of Wizard101 you're looking for. If you love the School of Magic & Turn-Based Combat: Divinity: Original Sin 2 (Single-player/Co-op RPG) Why it fits: This is a deep, story-rich RPG with fantastic turn-based tactical combat. You create a custom character (or choose an origin story) and build them as a powerful spellcaster from a variety of magical schools (Pyrokinetic, Geomancer, Hydrosophist, Aerotheurge, Summoning, etc.). The elemental interactions (e.g., casting rain to make enemies wet, then shocking them for a stun) feel very much like strategic spell-slinging. South Park: The Stick of Truth / The Fractured but Whole (Single-player RPG) Why it fits: These games parody RPGs (and MMOs) perfectly. You play as the "New Kid" in South Park, join a faction, and engage in hilarious, surprisingly deep turn-based combat. The Stick of Truth is more fantasy/magic-focused, while Fractured but Whole is superhero-themed. The humor and class-based combat will feel familiar in spirit. Darkest Dungeon II (Roguelike RPG) Why it fits: While much darker in tone, this game is all about building a party of distinct classes (including Occultists, Plague Doctors, and Runaways who use "magic") and managing them through stressful, turn-based battles. The strategic depth and focus on party composition is a key similarity. If you love the MMO & Social World aspect: Elder Scrolls Online (MMO) Why it fits: This is a full-fledged, massive MMO on Xbox. You can create a pure magic-user (Sorcerer, Warden, Necromancer, Arcanist) and explore a huge, open world with thousands of other players. It has quests, dungeons, player housing (like your dorm!), and a very active social scene. The combat is real-time, not turn-based, but the MMO feel is strong. DC Universe Online (MMO - Free to Play) Why it fits: A superhero MMO where you can 100% create a powerful magic-based hero or villain. You'll fly around iconic cities, complete missions, and team up with others. The free-to-play model and focus on building your own powerful character from a class are similar draws. Sky: Children of the Light (Social Adventure - Free to Play) Why it fits: This is a very different game in terms of gameplay (no combat), but it captures the social magic of Wizard101. It's about exploring beautiful, mysterious worlds, helping others, making non-verbal friends, and unlocking emotes/cosmetics. The emphasis on cooperation, community, and whimsical discovery is a strong parallel. If you love the Whimsical, Family-Friendly Adventure: Kitaria Fables (Action RPG) Why it fits: A cute, animal-themed game that blends farming/life-sim with action RPG combat. You play as a spell-slinging cat (or fox) who uses a variety of magic spells and a sword to explore and fight monsters. The tone and aesthetic are very accessible and charming. Slime Rancher 1 & 2 (Exploration/Simulation) Why it fits: While not an RPG, this game nails the feeling of exploring a strange, colorful, and magical world (the "Far, Far Range") as a cheerful adventurer (Beatrix LeBeau). You collect magical slimes, solve puzzles, and uncover the world's secrets. The sense of wonder is similar. Garden Story (Action RPG) Why it fits: You play as Concord, the youngest grape in a decaying world, tasked with protecting the island. It's a top-down, combat-light RPG with a heavy focus on community, helping NPCs, and restoring areas. The wholesome vibe and progression are reminiscent of Wizard101's early worlds. Quick Recommendation Summary: For deep, strategic magic combat: Try Divinity: Original Sin 2. For a funny, parody RPG with turn-based fights: Try South Park: The Stick of Truth. For a true MMO where you can be a powerful wizard with others: Try Elder Scrolls Online. For a beautiful, non-combat social experience: Try Sky: Children of the Light. For a cute, magical adventure with light combat and farming: Try Kitaria Fables. Note: Unfortunately, there is no direct "Wizard101 clone" on Xbox with its specific blend of card-based, turn-based MMO combat in a magic school setting. The closest experience in terms of gameplay would be single-player RPGs like Divinity, while the closest in terms of social MMO feel would be ESO. Hope this helps you find your next magical adventure

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
