world of warcraft on steam deck
World of Warcraft (WoW) runs well on the Steam Deck, but it requires some setup since its not natively available on Steam. Heres how to play it: Installation Methods A. Using Lutris (Recommended) Enable Desktop Mode: - Press the Steam button Power Switch to Desktop Mode. Install Lutris (a game manager for Linux): - Open Discover Store (Steam Decks app store). - Search for Lutris and install it. Add Battle.net via Lutris: - Open Lutris Click the + button Search for "Battle.net" Install. - Follow the prompts to install Battle.net. Install WoW: - Log in to Battle.net and install World of Warcraft (Retail or Classic). B. Adding Battle.net as a Non-Steam Game Download Battle.net Installer: - In Desktop Mode, open a browser and download the Battle.net installer (Windows version). Add to Steam & Run via Proton: - Open Steam Add a Game (bottom-left) Add a Non-Steam Game Browse to the installer. - Right-click the game in Steam Properties Compatibility Enable Force Proton Experimental (or Proton GE). Run the Installer & Install WoW: - Launch the installer via Steam, log in, and install WoW. - After installation, add Battle.net Launcher.exe (not the installer) as a non-Steam game. Controller Setup ConsolePort Addon (Best for Controller): - Install the ConsolePort addon (from CurseForge or WoWInterface). - It provides full controller support, radial menus, and action camera. Steam Input: - Use Steams controller config to map keyboard/mouse inputs to the Decks controls. Performance & Settings Graphics Settings: - Set to Medium/High (Steam Deck can handle 40-60 FPS). - Enable Dynamic Render Scaling for better performance. Proton Version: - Proton GE (GloriousEggroll) works best for Battle.net/WoW. Launching WoW in Game Mode Add the Battle.net Launcher as a non-Steam game. Launch it, then start WoW from there. Known Issues & Fixes Small Text: Use WoWs UI scaling or Steam Decks Magnifier (Steam + L1). Battle.net Updates: Sometimes requires re-logging in. Final Verdict WoW runs great on Steam Deck, especially with ConsolePort. Retail and Classic both work well, though raiding may require lower settings. Would you like help with a specific expansion (Dragonflight, WotLK Classic, etc.)?

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
