Types of Quests Quests are color-coded by their icon to help you prioritize: Main Storyline (Gold ): The most important. These advance the central narrative, unlock new worlds, and grant the bulk of your XP. You should always prioritize these. Side Quests (White ): Optional stories that offer additional XP, gold, and sometimes gear. Great for leveling up if you're falling behind. School Quests (Blue ): Granted by your school professor (e.g., Merle Ambrose for Myth). They teach you new spells and key class mechanics. Always do these. Crafting Quests (Brown ): Introduce you to the crafting system, allowing you to create powerful gear, housing items, and more. Gardening Quests (Green ): Teach you how to grow plants for reagents, snacks, and pet training. Pet Quests (Purple ): Involve hatching, training, and unlocking abilities for your pets. Zeke/Duncan/Felicia Quests (Turquoise): Collection quests to find hidden items (e.g., "Zeke's Lost Souls") in each world. Reward you with training points and gear. Dungeon Quests (Maroon ): Often point to longer, instanced dungeons like "Waterworks" or "Darkmoor," which are crucial for best-in-slot gear at certain levels. The Questing Flow & World Order The game is structured linearly through Arcs. Heres the standard progression: First Arc: The Wizard City to Dragonspyre Saga Worlds: Wizard City Krokotopia Marleybone Mooshu Dragonspyre Goal: Defeat the evil Malistaire Drake. This arc concludes the "free-to-play" portion and takes you to around Level 50. Second Arc: The Celestia to Avalon Saga Worlds: Celestia Zafaria Avalon Azteca Khrysalis (Part 1 & 2) Goal: Stop the force of Morganthe and the encroaching darkness. This is a very long arc, taking you from 50 to 100. Third Arc: The Polaris to Empyrea Saga Worlds: Polaris Mirage Empyrea (Part 1 & 2) Goal: A new, cosmic threat emerges. Brings you from 100 to 130. Fourth Arc: The Karamelle to Novus Saga Worlds: Karamelle Lemuria Novus Goal: Deal with existential threats to the Spiral. Levels 130-160. Fifth Arc: The Wallaru Saga Worlds: Wallaru Goal: The current end-game story, capping at Level 170. Key Questing Tips & Strategies Always Have a Quest Active: Your quest log holds up to 125 quests. Keep it full with a mix of main and side quests to maximize efficiency. Use the Quest Helper: The compass at the bottom of the screen points to your active quest's location. The arrow turns green when you're in the right area. Team Up!: Many dungeons and difficult bosses have a "Team Up" feature. Don't be afraid to use itthe community is generally helpful. Know the "Gear Checkpoints": At certain levels, stop and farm for game-changing gear: Level 30: Mount Olympus (Sky Iron Hasta wand is a must-have). Level 60: Waterworks (or House of Scales/House of Shadows). Level 100: Darkmoor (the most famous gear dungeon). Level 130: Catacombs (for Dragoon gear) or Merciless/Mule gear. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
