wizard101 level 30 death deck setup
Excellent choice! Level 30 is a great milestone for a Death wizard. You're finishing up Marleybone, heading into MooShu, and starting to really come into your own power. Here is a comprehensive deck setup guide for a Level 30 Death wizard, focusing on efficiency, survivability, and power. Core Philosophy for Death at This Level: Self-Sufficiency: Your heals come from dealing damage. Every attack is a potential heal. Efficiency: Keep your deck small to draw the right cards faster. Control: You have tools to manage the enemy's resources and tempo. Recommended Gear (Farm if you can, but don't stress): Hat/Robe/Boots: Zeus's Set (Senator/Advisor/Counselor) from Mount Olympus (Waterworks in 10 levels will replace this). This gives critical power pip chance, accuracy, and health. Wand: Sky Iron Hasta from Mount Olympus (Ares Savage Spear is also good). The +10% damage is unbeatable. Athame: Bear's Claw of Death (Bazaar) for good health and power pip. Amulet: Death Mastery Amulet (if you have one from packs or trading) OR Life Mastery Amulet (to use Satyr). If not, any amulet with health or resist (e.g., Heartsteel). Ring: Ring of the Labyrinth (Zigazag, Bazaar) for power pip and health. Deck Setup: The Two-Deck Strategy You should have separate decks for Mob Battles (trash fights) and Boss Battles. Mob Battle Deck (Fast & Efficient) Goal: Kill enemies in 2-3 rounds. Deck size: 20 cards total. Main Attack: Scarecrow (x2) - Your AOE (Area of Effect) bread and butter. This is your primary mob clear. Poison (x2-3) - Your early-game AOE. Still useful for finishing off weakened mobs or setting up before a Scarecrow. Blades & Traps: Deathblade (x2) - Your main blade. Spirit Blade (x1) - From Niles (Balance tree). The 35% boost is huge. Feint (x1) - For the rare tougher mob or if you get a bad draw. Utility & Survival: Dark Pact (x1-2) - Sacrifices a trap for a blade. Excellent for setting up quickly. Vampire (x1) or Wraith (x1) - Single-target heal/finisher if needed. Pixie (x1-2) or Sacrifice (x1) - For emergency healing if your attacks don't land. Treasure Cards (TC): Keep a Deathblade TC and a Spirit Blade TC in your sideboard for that perfect 3-blade setup. Recommended Deck: Death Star Deck (bought in Mooshu) or any deck with at least 40 cards. Mob Strategy: Blade (maybe twice) -> Scarecrow. Use Poison on round 2 if you don't have 4 pips for Scarecrow yet. Boss & Dungeon Deck (Strategic & Resilient) Goal: Sustain through higher damage, remove threats, and deliver a powerful finishing blow. Deck size: 35 cards. Main Attacks: Scarecrow (x2) - For minion clear or boss damage if blades are up. Wraith (x3) - Your premier single-target hit. Heals you for a massive amount. Vampire (x2) - Reliable single-target damage and heal. Blades & Traps: Deathblade (x3) Spirit Blade (x1) Feint (x2-3) - Your most powerful trap. Stack it! Curse (x1-2) - Great boost for you or a teammate. Utility & Control: Dark Pact (x2) Infection (x2) - CRUCIAL. Cuts enemy healing by 50%. Always have this on a boss. Sacrifice (x2) / Pixie (x2) - Dedicated healing cards. Tower Shield (x1-2) or Death Shield (x1) - From Ice/Death school. Mitigate damage. Minion (Optional but Fun): Bone Dragon (x1) or Scarab (x1) - A minion can tank hits and cast weaknesses/debuffs. Use sparingly as it can clutter your deck. Treasure Cards: Feint TC, Deathblade TC, Spirit Blade TC, Prism TC (for Death bosses, which you'll see soon!). Boss Strategy: Round 1: Cast Infection on the boss. Set Up: Layer your blades (Deathblade, Spirit Blade, Dark Pact) and traps (Feint, Curse). Execute: Hit with a fully boosted Wraith or Scarecrow. Heal/Sustain: Use Sacrifice or Vampire as needed to stay healthy. General Tips for Level 30 Death: Pet Choice: Look for a pet that gives: Death-Dealer (+% Damage) Death-Giver (+% Damage) Pain-Giver (+% Universal Damage) Spell-Proof (+% Universal Resist) A useful card like Deathblade, Feint, or Deer Knight (an amazing Death AOE TC). Training Points: Ice to Tower Shield is a MUST. Spirit Blade & Trap from Niles in Krokotopia. Save the rest! Soon you'll want Feint from Death (level 42), and many people recommend Life to Satyr (requires a Mastery Amulet to be practical) or Elemental Blade. Playstyle: Don't be afraid to take a hit. Your health is a resource because you can get it back. Always prioritize putting a Feint on the enemy before your big hit. Against Other Death Enemies: Have Prism (Death to Life) Treasure Cards ready for MooShu and later worlds. They convert your Death damage to Life, bypassing the enemy's Death resist. Final Deck Suggestion (Boss Deck Example): This setup will make you a formidable and nearly unkillable force through MooShu and into Dragonspyre. Good luck, and have fun dominating the Spiral

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
