Of course! The Hummingbird pet in Wizard101 is a beloved and versatile pet, known for its unique card and charming appearance. Heres a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know about it. How to Obtain the Hummingbird Pet It is not available through hatching in the Pet Pavilion (it's not in the standard pool). You have two main ways to get it: Gardening: This is the most reliable method. The Hummingbird is a rare drop from harvesting Pink Dandelions and Red Huckleberries. These plants are relatively easy to grow and are great for pet-seeking gardeners. Special Bundles/Promotions: Occasionally, the Hummingbird has been offered as part of special card game bundles or other promotional events. Check the Crown Shop during major sales. Stats and Appearance First Generation Stats: As a "first generation" pet from gardening, its starting stats (Strength, Intellect, etc.) will be random and usually low. You'll need to hatch it to improve its potential. Appearance: A small, adorable green hummingbird with a long beak, constantly fluttering its wings. Why is the Hummingbird Pet So Popular? Its popularity stems almost entirely from its unique and powerful item card. Hummingbird's Item Card: Sprite Swarm What it does: Casts a Life-based Sprite Swarm (4 pips, 365 base damage to all enemies, and heals the caster for 365 health). Why it's special: Off-School Utility: This is the biggest draw. Wizards from any school can use this card, giving them a strong, spammable AoE (Area of Effect) attack early in the game. It's a game-changer for schools like Life, Ice, or Balance that don't get a native 4-pip AoE until much later. Built-In Healing: The heal effect provides excellent sustainability for questing and solo play. Early Game Power Spike: Available from Baby pet stage, it helps massively through Wizard City, Krokotopia, and Marleybone. Best Uses and Strategies For Low-Level/Questing Wizards: Arguably its best use. Equipping a Hummingbird pet on a new character lets you blast through early worlds with ease. For Life Wizards: While Life wizards eventually learn their own AoE (Forest Lord), the Hummingbird's Sprite Swarm is a fantastic and thematic stop-gap until then. As a "Castle Pet": Many players keep one in their Shared Bank to pass between new wizards for faster leveling. For Pet Projects: Its desirable card makes it a sought-after base for hatching to create hybrid pets with both good stats and useful cards. Talent Recommendations When training a Hummingbird to Mega, aim for talents that complement its role as a questing/power pet: Offensive Talents: Pain-Giver, Life-Giver, Life-Dealer (boosts the damage and heal). Universal Resist: Spell-Proof (and Spell-Defying) to increase survivability. Utility: May Cast Fairy or May Cast Unicorn for extra healing. Mana Gift can be helpful for low-level wizards. A good, balanced set for a questing Hummingbird would be: Pain-Giver, Life-Giver, Spell-Proof, Spell-Defying, and May Cast Fairy. Important Notes & Cautions Damage Caps: The card's damage is static (based on the pet's generation, not your stats). A first-gen pet's card will be weaker than one from a max-stat pet. Hatching improves this. Not for PvP: The card is too slow and predictable for competitive PvP. End-Game: It becomes less essential once you have your school's powerful 7-pip AoE and better damage stats, but it remains a nostalgic and useful tool for farming or supporting alts. Final Verdict The Hummingbird is a top-tier pet for early-to-mid game progression and a fantastic goal for gardeners. Its unique Sprite Swarm card is a massive quality-of-life improvement, making it one of the most cherished "utility" pets in the game. It's absolutely worth the effort to obtain and train a good one. Pro Tip: Check the Pet Kiosk! While you can't get the first generation Hummingbird there, players often hatch their max-stat, perfect-talent Hummingbirds into the kiosk. You can hatch with theirs to get a Hummingbird body with much better stats and talents right from the start. Search for "Hummingbird" and look for ones with the talents you want.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
