what is the best class in guild wars 2
The "best" class in Guild Wars 2 depends on your playstyle, preferred game mode (PvE, WvW, PvP), and whether you prioritize DPS, support, or versatility. Heres a breakdown of top-tier options in 2024: Best Classes by Role (PvE - Endgame) DPS (Power/Condition) - Elementalist (Weaver/Catalyst) High burst and sustained damage, but complex rotations. - Necromancer (Reaper/Scourge) Easy to play, great survivability, and strong AoE. - Engineer (Mechanist/Holosmith) Strong ranged DPS, simple rotations (especially Mechanist). Support (Healer/Buffer) - Guardian (Firebrand) Best quickness support with healing and utility. - Mesmer (Chronomancer) Strong alacrity and boon support. - Ranger (Druid) Excellent healer with spirits and alacrity. Hybrid (DPS + Support) - Revenant (Herald/Renegade) Great for alacrity/quickness while dealing solid damage. - Warrior (Berserker/Bladesworn) Strong DPS with banners (less meta now but still viable). Best for Open World & Solo Play Necromancer (Scourge/Reaper) Nearly unkillable with minions and high sustain. Ranger (Soulbeast) High burst and pet tanking. Guardian (Willbender/Dragonhunter) Good damage and survivability. Best for WvW (Zerg/Group) Guardian (Firebrand) Essential for boons and stability. Necromancer (Scourge) AoE pressure and boon corruption. Revenant (Herald) Strong boon support and frontline presence. Best for PvP (Small-Scale) Thief (Specter/Deadeye) High mobility and burst. Ranger (Soulbeast) Strong 1v1 potential. Mesmer (Mirage) Confusion and evasion-based gameplay. Most Beginner-Friendly Classes Necromancer High survivability, simple rotations. Ranger Pet tanks for you, easy mechanics. Guardian Balanced and forgiving. Most Complex (High Skill Ceiling) Elementalist Requires attunement swapping and fast reactions. Engineer (Holosmith/Scrapper) Kit management can be tricky. Mesmer (Chronomancer/Mirage) Illusion management and timing. Final Verdict Best Overall: Guardian (Firebrand/Willbender) Strong in all modes, flexible builds. Best for Solo Play: Necromancer (Scourge/Reaper) Easy and tanky. Best for Support: Firebrand (Guardian) or Chronomancer (Mesmer) Top-tier boon support. Best for DPS: Elementalist (Weaver/Catalyst) Highest benchmark but hard to master. If you're new, Necromancer or Guardian are great starting points. If you want a challenge, Elementalist or Engineer offer high rewards for skilled play. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
