In Ultima Online (UO), Karma is a moral alignment system that tracks a player's actions, distinguishing between "good" and "evil" behavior. It works alongside the Fame system (which measures renown) to determine how NPCs and other players perceive your character. How Karma Works: Gaining Karma: - Performing "good" actions (e.g., killing monsters, helping NPCs, healing other players). - Resurrecting other players. - Donating gold to shrines (e.g., the Shrine of Compassion). Losing Karma: - Murdering innocent players (turning "red" or "red-handed"). - Attacking or killing non-aggressive NPCs (e.g., town vendors, animals). - Stealing (though stealing alone doesnt affect Karmaonly murder does). Effects of Karma: - Positive Karma (Blue Name): - NPCs may react favorably (e.g., guards protect you). - Some quests or NPC interactions require high Karma. - Negative Karma (Red Name): - Guards will attack you on sight in most towns. - Other players may hunt you as an outlaw. - Some evil-aligned NPCs or guilds may interact differently with you. Karma vs. Fame: - Fame measures how well-known your character is (gained by killing monsters, completing quests). - Karma measures moral alignment (good vs. evil). - Combined, they determine titles like "Famous," "Great Lord," or "Dread Lord." Resetting Karma: Over time, Karma can decay if not maintained. Murder counts decay after a set time (unless you commit more crimes). Some servers (private shards) may modify Karma rules. Would you like details on specific Karma-related mechanics (e.g., shrine donations, murder counts)?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
