Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Ultima Online (UO), released in 1997 by Origin Systems (and later EA), is one of the most influential MMORPGs of all time. Heres a quick dive into its 1998 eraa pivotal year for the game: Key Features (1998) Open-World Sandbox: Players could explore the vast land of Britannia, with no level caps or rigid classes. Skills improved through use (a revolutionary system at the time). Player-Driven Economy: Crafting, trading, and looting were central. Players could own houses, run shops, and even become thieves or murderers. PvP & Felucca: The Felucca ruleset (full-loot PvP) created intense rivalries, while Trammel (added later in 2000) offered a safer experience. Early Expansions: While The Second Age (1998) wasnt a full expansion, it introduced new lands like Buccaneers Den and the Lost Lands. Emergent Gameplay: Player-run events, guild wars, and scams (like the infamous bank robbery exploits) became legendary. Cultural Impact First True MMORPG: Predating EverQuest and WoW, UO defined many MMO tropes (persistent worlds, housing, open PvP). Controversies: Griefing, PK (player-killing) gangs, and exploits led to debates about player freedom vs. moderation. Modding & Private Servers: Even in 1998, players ran custom free shards (unofficial servers), extending UOs lifespan. Legacy UO still runs today (on Official Servers and Outlands, a popular private server). Inspired games like EVE Online, Albion Online, and Star Wars Galaxies. Did you play UO in 98? Share your memoriesor ask about specifics! (I still have nightmares about red PKs in Yew)

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
