Patch 11.0.5 Now Live
Major balance changes to all classes, new dungeon difficulty, and holiday events are now available. Check out the full patch notes for details.
Both Throne and Liberty (T&L) and New World (NW) are MMORPGs with a focus on large-scale PvP, territory control, and open-world exploration, but they have key differences in gameplay, mechanics, and design philosophy. Here's a detailed comparison: Developer & Background Throne and Liberty - Developed by NCSoft (known for Lineage, Guild Wars 2). - Originally conceived as Lineage Eternal, rebranded as a standalone title. - Heavy emphasis on large-scale faction warfare and dynamic world events. New World - Developed by Amazon Games (their first major MMO). - Initially pitched as a full-loot PvP sandbox but shifted to a more PvE-friendly model. - Focuses on territory control, crafting, and action combat. Combat & Gameplay Feature Throne and Liberty New World Combat Style Tab-targeting with some action elements (similar to Lineage) Full action combat (dodges, aiming, no tab-targeting) Class System Weapon-based (swap weapons to change skills) Weapon-based (skills tied to weapons) PvP Focus Large-scale siege battles (50v50+) Smaller-scale faction wars (50v50) and open-world PvP (opt-in) PvE Content Dungeons, world bosses, dynamic events Expeditions (dungeons), corrupted breaches, raids T&L leans into massive siege battles (like Lineage) with castle sieges and faction warfare. NW has more small-group skirmishes and territory control with companies (guilds) fighting over forts. Economy & Crafting Throne and Liberty - Economy is partially player-driven, but NCSoft may impose restrictions (like in Lineage). - Crafting exists but is secondary to PvP progression. New World - Fully player-driven economy (no NPC vendors for high-tier gear). - Deep crafting system (gear, potions, housing items). - Territory bonuses affect crafting taxes and resource availability. NW is better for crafters, while T&L is more PvP-centric. Progression & Endgame Feature Throne and Liberty New World Leveling Quest-driven with some grind Quest-driven, but slower (more exploration-based) Endgame PvP Castle sieges, faction wars Outpost Rush (20v20), wars (50v50), open-world PvP Endgame PvE World bosses, dungeons, raids Mutated dungeons, expeditions, seasonal events Gear Progression Gear upgrades via PvP/PvE drops Crafting, dungeon drops, PvP rewards T&L likely has more vertical progression (gear upgrades matter a lot). NW is more horizontal (gear score caps, more build variety). Monetization Throne and Liberty - Likely F2P with cash shop (NCSofts model in Lineage). - Potential pay-for-convenience (boosters, cosmetics). New World - Buy-to-play (no subscription). - Cosmetic-only cash shop (no pay-to-win). NW is more consumer-friendly, while T&L may have P2W concerns. World & Exploration Throne and Liberty - Dynamic weather/events affect battles (e.g., bridges forming for sieges). - More instanced content (dungeons, battlegrounds). New World - Seamless open world (no loading screens between zones). - Housing system (player-owned homes with decor). - More sandbox elements (fishing, gathering, town projects). NW feels more immersive, while T&L is more combat-focused. Which One Should You Play? Play Throne and Liberty if: - You love large-scale PvP (sieges, faction wars). - You prefer tab-target combat with strategic depth. - You enjoy Korean MMO progression (grind, gear upgrades). Play New World if: - You prefer action combat (dodging, aiming). - You like crafting, housing, and sandbox elements. - You want a more casual-friendly MMO (less P2W). Final Verdict PvP Fans: Throne and Liberty (if it avoids heavy P2W). PvE/Crafting Fans: New World (better world immersion). Combat Preference: NW for action, T&L for tab-target. Both games have their strengths, but New World is currently more polished, while Throne and Liberty could appeal to Lineage fans craving massive wars.

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
