In Throne and Liberty, the "jobs" or roles players can take on are primarily defined by their chosen class, weapon specialization, and playstyle, rather than traditional job systems like crafting or gathering professions. Heres a breakdown of how roles and progression work in the game: Classless System with Weapon-Based Roles Unlike traditional MMOs with fixed classes, Throne and Liberty allows players to freely swap weapons to change their combat role. Your abilities and playstyle are determined by your equipped weapon(s). Key roles include: Tank: Focus on defense and aggro management (e.g., Sword + Shield, Greatsword). DPS: High damage output (e.g., Daggers, Bow, Staff). Support/Healer: Provides buffs, healing, or crowd control (e.g., Wand, Tome). Players can mix and match two weapons to create hybrid builds (e.g., Bow + Daggers for ranged/melee flexibility). Crafting and Gathering (Non-Combat Jobs) While combat roles are the focus, the game includes crafting and gathering systems similar to professions in other MMOs: - Gathering: Collect resources like ore, herbs, or wood. - Crafting: Create weapons, armor, potions, or other items. - Trading: Sell crafted goods or resources in the player-driven economy. These activities are secondary but can provide valuable gear or income. Guild Roles and Social Jobs Guilds (Alliances) offer structured roles for players: - Leader/Officers: Manage guild activities, wars, and resources. - PvP Specialists: Focus on large-scale battles like sieges (Castle Sieges). - Crafters/Gatherers: Support the guild with supplies. Dynamic Events and World Roles Players can engage in: - World Bosses: Tank/DPS/Support roles in PvE. - PvP Events: Scouts, frontline fighters, or strategists in open-world conflicts. - Siege Warfare: Defenders or attackers in castle sieges. Key Takeaways No rigid class systemroles are defined by weapon choice and skill builds. Crafting/gathering exists but is supplemental. Guilds and PvP/PvE events encourage specialization (e.g., tank for sieges, DPS for raids). For optimal progression, experiment with weapon combos to find your preferred role! The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
