Patch 11.0.5 Now Live
Major balance changes to all classes, new dungeon difficulty, and holiday events are now available. Check out the full patch notes for details.
The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are both set in Tamriel, but they offer very different experiences. Heres a breakdown of their key differences: Gameplay & Genre ESO: A MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online RPG) with persistent online worlds, group content (dungeons, raids), and PvP (Cyrodiil, Battlegrounds). Combat is action-based with skill bars and cooldowns. Oblivion: A single-player open-world RPG with real-time combat, a class system, and deep NPC interactions. No multiplayer; gameplay is more traditional Elder Scrolls. Story & Setting ESO: Set across all of Tamriel (including Oblivions Cyrodiil), 1000 years before Oblivion. Features multiple faction-based storylines and expansions (e.g., Morrowind, Summerset). Oblivion: Focused on Cyrodiil during the Oblivion Crisis (Daedric invasion). A single-player narrative with the Hero of Kvatch as the protagonist. World & Exploration ESO: Large, instanced zones with dynamic events, public dungeons, and group content. Exploration is rewarding but designed for multiplayer. Oblivion: A seamless open world with handcrafted dungeons, NPC schedules (Radiant AI), and a more immersive, lonely atmosphere. Combat & Progression ESO: Class-based (e.g., Dragonknight, Sorcerer) with skill morphing, weapon swapping, and builds optimized for group play. Oblivion: Traditional Elder Scrolls leveling (major/minor skills), spell crafting, and more freedom in character builds (though level scaling can be janky). Graphics & Style ESO: More stylized, colorful, and optimized for performance across platforms. Oblivion: Dated but charming, with realistic (for 2006) faces and a more "medieval fantasy" aesthetic. Modding ESO: Limited modding (mostly UI tweaks via add-ons). Oblivion: Extensive mod supportgraphics overhauls, gameplay tweaks, new quests (e.g., Nehrim total conversion). Multiplayer vs. Solo ESO: Built for multiplayergroup dungeons, guilds, trading economy. Oblivion: Pure single-player with no online features. Which One Should You Play? Play ESO if you want an MMO with constant updates, group content, and a living world. Play Oblivion if you prefer a classic single-player RPG with deep immersion and modding. Both are great, but they cater to different tastes! If you love Elder Scrolls lore, both offer rich storiesjust in different formats.

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
