The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) features ten playable races, each with unique racial passives, cultural backgrounds, and lore ties to the world of Tamriel. Heres a breakdown of the races available in the game: Alliance-Based Races Each of the three alliances (Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and Ebonheart Pact) has three associated races. However, with the "Any Race, Any Alliance" upgrade (or owning certain chapters), you can play any race in any alliance. Aldmeri Dominion Races High Elf (Altmer) - Bonus: Increased Magicka, Spell Damage, and Magicka Recovery. - Lore: Native to Summerset Isles, masters of magic and tradition. Wood Elf (Bosmer) - Bonus: Increased Stamina, Stealth Detection, Poison & Disease Resistance. - Lore: Agile hunters from Valenwood, bound by the Green Pact. Khajiit - Bonus: Increased Stamina Recovery, Critical Chance, and Stealth Movement. - Lore: Feline humanoids from Elsweyr, known for trade and moon-linked forms. Daggerfall Covenant Races Breton - Bonus: Magicka Cost Reduction, Spell Resistance, and Magicka Pool. - Lore: Human descendants of High Rock, gifted in magic and diplomacy. Redguard - Bonus: Increased Stamina, Poison Resistance, and Adrenaline Rush (Stamina Sustain). - Lore: Warriors from Hammerfell, renowned for sword mastery and endurance. Orc (Orsimer) - Bonus: Increased Health, Melee Damage, and Healing Received. - Lore: Fierce warriors from Wrothgar and Orsinium, with a strong clan culture. Ebonheart Pact Races Dark Elf (Dunmer) - Bonus: Balanced Magicka/Stamina bonuses, Fire Resistance, and Weapon/Spell Damage. - Lore: Resilient people of Morrowind, tied to House Dunmer and Daedra. Nord - Bonus: Increased Health, Ultimate Generation, and Frost Resistance. - Lore: Hardy warriors from Skyrim, resistant to cold and strong in battle. Argonian - Bonus: Increased Healing Received, Poison/Disease Immunity, and Swimming Speed. - Lore: Reptilian natives of Black Marsh, adaptable and tied to the Hist. Neutral Race (Available to All Alliances) Imperial (Requires Imperial Edition or Crown Store purchase) - Bonus: Increased Health, Stamina, and Gold Find. - Lore: Descendants of Cyrodiils empire, versatile warriors and leaders. Racial Passives & Playstyle Impact Each race has unique passives that favor certain playstyles: Magicka Builds: High Elf, Breton, Dark Elf Stamina Builds: Redguard, Orc, Wood Elf, Khajiit Tanks/Healers: Nord, Argonian, Imperial Lore & Faction Notes Races like the Khajiit and Argonian have deep cultural lore affecting quests. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
