The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is a popular MMORPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe, offering a mix of solo and multiplayer content. Before buying, here are key points to consider: Gameplay & Content - Solo-Friendly: Unlike many MMOs, ESO has a strong focus on solo storytelling, with fully voiced quests and a rich open world. - MMO Elements: Dungeons, raids (trials), PvP (Cyrodiil & Battlegrounds), and guild trading require multiplayer interaction. - Class & Build Freedom: Flexible skill systemany class can be a tank, healer, or DPS, but meta builds exist for endgame. Expansions & DLC - Base Game (Tamriel Unlimited): Includes Morrowind (since 2017) and hundreds of hours of content. - Chapters (Expansions): Major DLCs like Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, and Necrom add new zones, classes (Necromancer & Arcanist), and mechanics. - Optional DLCs: Smaller zones (Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood) and dungeons can be accessed via subscription (ESO Plus) or bought separately. Monetization - Buy-to-Play: No mandatory subscription, but ESO Plus (15/month) offers unlimited crafting bag, access to all DLC (except latest Chapter), and Crowns (premium currency). - Crown Store: Cosmetic items, mounts, and convenience upgrades (bank space, etc.). - Latest Chapter Not Included: Must buy separately (e.g., Necrom if you want the Arcanist class). Performance & Platform - Cross-Play: No, but PC/Mac players share servers (NA/EU). Console players (PS/Xbox) are separate. - Performance: Generally smooth, but Cyrodiil (PvP) can lag during large battles. - Mods: PC supports add-ons (UI improvements, quest helpers); consoles do not. Community & Endgame - Active Player Base: Healthy population on all platforms. - Endgame: Veteran dungeons, trials (raids), and leaderboard PvP for hardcore players. - Casual-Friendly: Housing, crafting, and exploration are viable playstyles. Should You Buy It? - Good if you: - Love Elder Scrolls lore and exploration. - Prefer a mix of solo and group content. - Enjoy horizontal progression (no gear treadmill like WoW). - Not ideal if you: - Dislike MMO mechanics (grinding, group content). - Expect Skyrim multiplayer (combat is more ability-based). - Want all content without paying extra. Best Way to Start - Standard Edition: Includes base game + Morrowind (often on sale). - Upgrade Later: Buy Chapters/DLC as you progress. - ESO Plus Trial: Try it free during promotions. Verdict: A great MMO for Elder Scrolls fans and casual players, but be prepared for optional purchases. Try the base game first if unsure!

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
