Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

The history of role-playing games (RPGs) spans several decades, evolving from tabletop origins to digital dominance. Heres a breakdown of key milestones: Tabletop RPG Origins (1970s) 1974: Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, is published by TSR. It introduces core RPG mechanics like character stats, dice rolls, and dungeon-crawling. 1977: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) refines rules, solidifying RPG conventions (classes, alignments, experience points). Other early tabletop RPGs: Traveller (1977), Call of Cthulhu (1981), RuneQuest (1978). Early Computer RPGs (1980s) 1980: Akalabeth: World of Doom (later Ultima I, 1981) by Richard Garriott pioneers open-world exploration and character progression. 1981: Wizardry and Might & Magic series debut, introducing party-based dungeon crawlers. 1985: The Bards Tale popularizes tactical combat and fantasy storytelling. 1988: Pool of Radiance (SSI) adapts D&D rules to PCs, spawning the Gold Box series. Golden Age of CRPGs (1990s) 1990: Ultima VI and Eye of the Beholder push narrative depth and real-time exploration. 1994: Betrayal at Krondor blends novel-like storytelling with RPG mechanics. 1997: Fallout (Interplay) revolutionizes post-apocalyptic RPGs with branching narratives and turn-based combat. 1998: Baldurs Gate (BioWare) reinvents D&D for PCs with real-time-with-pause combat. 1999: Planescape: Torment (Black Isle) sets a benchmark for philosophical storytelling. Console RPGs Rise (1980s2000s) 1986: Dragon Quest (Enix) popularizes JRPGs in Japan; Final Fantasy (1987) follows. 1991: Final Fantasy IV introduces dramatic character arcs; Chrono Trigger (1995) perfects time-travel storytelling. 1997: Final Fantasy VII (Square) brings JRPGs to global audiences with 3D graphics and cinematic storytelling. 2000s: Dragon Quest VIII (2004), Persona 3 (2006), and Xenoblade Chronicles (2010) expand JRPG innovation. Modern RPGs (2000sPresent) 2002: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Bethesda) pioneers open-world freedom. 2007: Mass Effect (BioWare) blends RPG mechanics with shooter elements. 2011: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim becomes a cultural phenomenon. 2015: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (CD Projekt Red) sets new standards for narrative and open-world design. 2020s: Baldurs Gate 3 (2023) revives classic CRPGs with modern polish, while Elden Ring (2022) merges RPG and Soulslike gameplay. Key RPG Subgenres Action RPGs (ARPGs): Diablo (1996), Dark Souls (2011). MMORPGs: World of Warcraft (2004), Final Fantasy XIV (2010). Tactical RPGs: Fire Emblem (1990), Divinity: Original Sin (2014). Roguelike RPGs: NetHack (1987), Hades (2020). Legacy RPGs remain one of gamings most influential genres, evolving from dice-and-paper roots to sprawling digital worlds. Their focus on storytelling, player choice, and character growth continues to shape gaming today. Would you like details on a specific era or game?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
