Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Developing an RPG (Role-Playing Game) can be a rewarding but complex process. Heres a structured guide to help you get started: Define Your RPG Concept - Genre/Setting: Fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, etc. - Core Mechanics: Turn-based, action-RPG, tactical, open-world, etc. - Story & Themes: Main plot, side quests, moral choices, lore. - Art Style: Pixel art, 3D, hand-drawn, etc. Game Design Document (GDD) Outline key elements: - Gameplay Loop: Combat, exploration, dialogue, progression. - Character System: Stats (STR, DEX, INT), classes, skills, leveling. - Inventory & Items: Weapons, armor, consumables, crafting. - Quests & NPCs: Main story, side quests, branching dialogue. - World Design: Maps, towns, dungeons, fast travel. Choose Your Tools Engines: - Unity (C#) Flexible, large community. - Unreal Engine (Blueprints/C++) Great for 3D, high-end graphics. - Godot (GDScript/C#) Lightweight, open-source. - RPG Maker (No coding) Best for 2D traditional JRPGs. Art & Audio: - Aseprite (Pixel art), Blender (3D models). - Audacity (Sound effects), Free music packs (OpenGameArt.org). Core Systems to Implement - Character Controller: Movement, collisions, animations. - Combat System: Melee/ranged, spells, enemy AI. - Dialogue System: Branching conversations (e.g., Ink, Yarn Spinner). - Inventory & UI: Drag-and-drop, tooltips, equipment slots. - Save/Load: Serialize player progress (JSON, binary files). Prototype & Iterate - Build a minimum viable product (MVP) with basic mechanics. - Test core gameplay (e.g., combat feel, progression pacing). - Use placeholder assets early; polish later. Content Creation - Maps: Tilemaps (Tiled) or procedural generation. - Quests: Use a quest manager with objectives/rewards. - Enemies & Balancing: Adjust stats/XP curves for fairness. Polish & Optimization - UI/UX: Menus, HUD, controller support. - Particles/Sound: Feedback for attacks, spells, etc. - Performance: Reduce draw calls, optimize scripts. Playtesting & Feedback - Fix bugs, adjust difficulty, refine story/dialogue. - Gather feedback from players (friends, Discord communities). Release & Marketing - Platforms: Steam, itch.io, consoles (requires dev kits). - Trailer & Screenshots: Showcase key features. - Community: Build hype via social media, devlogs. Post-Launch - Bug fixes, DLCs, or expansions based on player feedback. Recommended Learning Resources - Tutorials: - Unity RPG tutorials (Brackeys, Code Monkey). - Unreal RPG series (Unreal Engine official docs). - Books: - "The Art of Game Design" by Jesse Schell. - "Designing Virtual Worlds" by Richard Bartle. - Communities: - r/gamedev, RPG Maker forums, IndieDB. Example Simple RPG Stack Engine: Godot (user-friendly, lightweight). Combat: Turn-based (like Pokémon). Art: Pixel art (Aseprite + OpenGameArt assets). Dialogue: Yarn Spinner for branching narratives. Start small, scope wisely, and iterate! Would you like recommendations for a specific type of RPG (e.g., action, turn-based)?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
