rejecting my lycan mate dramashorts
Here is a dramatic short story based on your request, titled "The Rejection." Title: The Rejection Characters: Elara: A young woman, a recently discovered Lycan princess. She is fierce, prideful, and deeply hurt. Damon: The Alpha of the Silvermoon pack. Powerful, cold, and duty-bound. (Scene opens) The moon hung heavy and silver over the clearing. Sacred stones, slick with dew, formed a circle around Elara and Damon. The entire Silvermoon pack watched, a silent sea of wolves. Elaras heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat of hope. She had waited her whole life to feel this, to know her mate. And it was Damon. The most powerful Alpha in a century. Damon stared at her, his face a mask of stone. His eyes, the color of winter storms, held no warmth. He didnt see her. He saw a problem. Tonight, the Elders voice boomed, the moon goddess blesses this union. Alpha Damon. Do you claim Elara, of the Crescent heritage, as your fated mate? Do you pledge your life, your pack, your soul to her keeping? Damons jaw tightened. He took a step forward, not towards Elara, but past her, to address the pack. His voice, when it came, was a low, brutal thunder that silenced even the crickets. I do not. A collective gasp sucked the air from the clearing. Elara felt the ground tilt beneath her feet. The invisible, golden bond of the mate-claim, which had only just begun to bloom in her chest, turned to ice and shattered. The Crescent line is cursed, Damon continued, his voice flat, dismissive. Her mother was a traitor who ran from her duty. Her magic is unstable, a weakness. I will not taint the Silvermoon bloodline. I reject her. Rejection. The word was a physical blow. It wasnt just a no. It was a severing. A spiritual amputation. Elara felt a phantom pain shoot through her chest, a tearing sensation where her soul had reached out to his. The packs whispers became a roaring in her ears. Pity. Scorn. She could smell their shame for her on the wind. Tears threatened, but she would not let them fall. Not here. Not in front of him. She lifted her chin, a defiance born from the very shards of her broken bond. She met his cold, hard stare. You are a coward, she said, her voice clear as a bell, cutting through the murmurs. Hiding behind your pride and your politics. Damons eyes narrowed. A flicker of surprise, quickly masked. Leave this territory by dawn, Elara. You are no longer welcome. He turned his back on her. The ultimate insult. The Alpha walked away, his pack parting for him like a wave, leaving her standing alone in the circle of stones, an island of grief in a sea of enemies. As the pack dispersed, an older she-wolf paused. He gave you no mark, she whispered, her voice filled with a strange, pitying awe. He didnt even mark you as his own to reject. He he didnt even see you as a proper mate. That was the worst of it. She wasn't even worth the proper, bloody ritual of a marked rejection. She was simply dirt. (Scene ends) (Optional Dark Twist Voiceover): But the Elder was wrong about one thing. The Crescent line wasn't cursed. It was dormant. And rejection, especially an unmarked, dishonorable one, doesn't just break a bond. In the rarest of cases it awakens the monster inside the one who was thrown away. (Fade to black. Sound of a wolf howling, then a deep, guttural roar that is not a wolf at all.) Would you like another one? I can do a longer version, a different trope (like a rejected mate who gets revenge), or continue this story.

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
