Puzzle 87: The Three Switches (from Professor Layton and the Curious Village) is a classic logic puzzle. Here's the problem and solution: Problem: You are in a room with three light switches outside. Each switch controls one of three light bulbs inside a separate room. You can turn the switches on and off, but once you open the door to the room with the bulbs, you cannot change the switches. How can you definitively determine which switch controls which bulb? Solution: Turn on the first switch and leave it on for a few minutes. - The bulb controlled by this switch will heat up (since its been on). Turn it off, then immediately turn on the second switch. - The bulb controlled by the second switch will be on. - The bulb controlled by the first switch will be off but warm. - The bulb controlled by the third switch will be off and cold. Open the door and observe: - The bulb thats on controlled by the second switch. - The bulb thats off but warm controlled by the first switch. - The bulb thats off and cold controlled by the third switch. Why This Works: The key is using the heat of the bulb as an indicator, not just the light. Only the first switchs bulb has time to warm up before being turned off. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
