Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

This is a great category with a lot of nuance. "Portable" in the gaming world typically means under 5 lbs (2.2 kg) and under 1 inch thick. You're trading raw, desktop-replacement power for the ability to easily bring it to a café, on a plane, or between classes. Here is the breakdown of the best portable gaming laptops in 2024, categorized by how you prioritize portability vs. power. The Gold Standard (Best All-Rounder) ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2024 Model) Why it wins: For years, this has been the #1 recommendation for a portable gaming laptop. The 2024 version is a massive redesign with a premium aluminum chassis, an OLED screen option, and incredible performance. Weight: 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) Battery Life: Excellent for a gaming laptop (8-10 hours for light work). Screen: 14" OLED (3K, 120Hz) or IPS (QHD, 165Hz). Both are gorgeous. Performance: Up to AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS and RTX 4070. Trade-off: The RTX 4070 is the "top" GPU option; you can't get an RTX 4080/4090 in this chassis due to thermal limits. It's also a bit pricey for the specs. Best for: The user who wants a truly "do it all" laptop gaming, creative work, and daily use without looking like a gaming spaceship. The Thinnest & Lightest (Ultrabook Feel) Razer Blade 14 (2024 Model) Why it wins: If the G14 is a compact crossover, the Blade 14 is a pure ultrabook that happens to game. It has the best build quality in the industry (unibody CNC aluminum) and the smallest footprint. Weight: 3.9 lbs (1.8 kg) Thickness: 0.7 inches incredibly thin. Screen: 14" QHD+ 240Hz IPS or 16:10 Calman Verified. Performance: Up to AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS and RTX 4070. Trade-off: It is expensive. You pay a premium for the design. Also, the fans can get loud under heavy load because the chassis is so slim. Best for: Users who value aesthetics, build quality, and absolute thinness above all else. The "Apple MacBook Pro of gaming." The "Just Right" Size (Best 16-inch Portable) Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (Gen 9) Why it wins: If 14 inches feels too small for your eyes or for competitive gaming, this is the next step. It offers a larger 16-inch screen in a surprisingly slim and lightweight chassis that competes with 14-inch laptops in portability. Weight: 4.6 lbs (2.1 kg) still very light for a 16 incher. Screen: 16" WQXGA (2560x1600) 165Hz IPS (or 240Hz OLED option). Performance: Up to AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS and RTX 4070. Trade-off: The hinge is not as premium as the Zephyrus or Razer, and the speakers are average. Bonus: Excellent port selection and significantly cheaper than the ROG or Razer. Best for: Gamers who want a bigger screen for immersive gaming or productivity but still need to carry it in a backpack daily. The "Best Performance in a Compact Frame" (For High-End Needs) ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (2024 Model) Why it wins: This is the bigger brother of the G14 but shares the same ultra-slim design philosophy. It allows you to get significantly more GPU power in a still-portable 16" chassis. Weight: 4.4 lbs (2.0 kg) Thickness: 0.7 inches (nearly as thin as the 14-inch Razer). Screen: 16" ROG Nebula OLED (2.5K, 240Hz, 0.2ms) arguably the best screen on any gaming laptop. Performance: Up to Intel Core Ultra 9 185H and RTX 4090 (with a 125W TGP). Trade-off: Loud fans under load is the main complaint. The Intel CPU runs hot. It's also very expensive. Best for: Users who need a portable 16-inch screen for work/gaming and want the absolute highest frame rates in a thin package (e.g., for VR or AAA titles). The Budget King (Best Value) HP Victus 16 (2024) or Dell G15 Why it wins: Not as premium, but incredibly capable for the price. They are the "heavy" portable options. Weight: 5.2 - 5.5 lbs (2.4 - 2.5 kg) heavier than the others. Trade-off: Plastic chassis, worse speakers, and worse battery life. But they are often 30-40% cheaper for the same CPU/GPU specs as the ROG or Razer. Best for: Getting a powerful RTX 4060/4070 for under 1,200. Acceptable portability for the budget. The Ultimate Verdict: Which should you buy? If you... Buy this... : : Want the best balance of power, portability, & OLED screen ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Want the thinnest/most premium build (money is no object) Razer Blade 14 Need a 16" screen but still want to carry it easily Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Want the highest FPS in a portable chassis (VR/AAA) ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 Have a tight budget (800-1,200) HP Victus 16 One final tip: For true portability, stick to an RTX 4060 or 4070. The RTX 4080/4090 in a thin chassis generates so much heat that the fans are constantly loud, and the performance is often thermally throttled. The RTX 4070 is the sweet spot for a portable gaming laptop.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
