Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Based on the current laws in New York State, here is the breakdown of what is legal and what is not regarding online casinos: The Short Answer: No, traditional "online casino" games (like slots, blackjack, roulette, and poker) for real money are NOT legal in New York. There is currently no legal framework for commercial online casinos in the state. However, Online Sports Betting IS legal and very popular. Here is the detailed breakdown of the legal landscape: What IS Legal in New York (Online) Online Sports Betting (Legal): Since January 2022, New York has had a fully regulated and highly successful mobile sports betting market. You can bet on sports from your phone using licensed operators. - Popular Apps: DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, ESPN BET, and others. - How it works: You must be physically within New York State borders to place a bet. Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) (Legal): Platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel also operate their DFS contests, which are legal and regulated in NY. Social & Sweepstakes Casinos (Legal): These are online platforms that use "Sweeps Coins" or "Gold Coins" instead of real money. You can purchase packages to play slots and table games, and redeem winnings for real prizes (gift cards, cash). These are legal because they operate under a sweepstakes model, not a gambling license. Examples: Stake.us, Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, Pulsz. What is NOT Legal (and Why) Real-Money Online Casino Slots & Table Games: Any website offering traditional casino games (like slots, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker) for real money is illegal in New York. There are no state-licensed operators for this. Online Poker (for real money): Unlike neighboring states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania, New York has not legalized and regulated online poker rooms. Unlicensed Offshore Casinos: Many websites based outside the US (e.g., in Costa Rica, Malta, Curacao) accept New York players. This is a gray area. While the state has not aggressively prosecuted individual players, these sites are operating illegally under NY law. Using them carries risks: - No consumer protection: You have no recourse if they refuse to pay your winnings. - Legal risk for operators: The state can go after the operators. - Payment issues: Credit card companies often block transactions to these sites. The Future of Online Casinos in NY? There is a strong push to legalize full-scale online casinos (often called "iGaming") in New York. The Case For: The state is currently losing hundreds of millions of dollars in potential tax revenue to neighboring states (NJ, PA, CT) that have legal iGaming. Proponents argue it would generate significant tax money for education, infrastructure, and problem gambling programs. The Case Against: Some lawmakers and community groups are concerned about increased gambling addiction, cannibalization of the state's new brick-and-mortar casinos (downstate licenses were just awarded in 2023), and the need for stronger responsible gambling measures. Current Status (as of late 2024/early 2025): Several bills have been introduced in the NY State Legislature, but none have passed. The issue is expected to be a major topic of debate in upcoming legislative sessions, but passage is not imminent. The most likely scenario is legalization within the next 2-5 years, not months. What About Brick-and-Mortar Casinos? Yes, New York has a number of licensed, physical casinos, including: Resorts World Casino (Queens) Empire City Casino (Yonkers) Turning Stone Resort Casino (Verona) del Lago Resort & Casino (Waterloo) Resorts World Catskills (Monticello) Saratoga Casino Hotel (Saratoga Springs) And several tribal casinos. Summary Table for a New York Resident Activity Legal in NY? Where to Play? : : : Online Sports Betting Yes DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars, BetMGM, etc. Online Casino Slots & Table Games No Not available from licensed NY operators. Online Poker (Real Money) No Not available from licensed NY operators. Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) Yes DraftKings, FanDuel Social / Sweepstakes Casinos Yes Stake.us, Chumba, LuckyLand, Pulsz Offshore (Unlicensed) Casinos Illegal (Gray) High risk, not recommended. In-Person Casino Gambling Yes Resorts World, Empire City, Turning Stone, etc. Bottom Line: If you live in New York and want to gamble online legally today, stick to sports betting or social casinos. Do not expect legal online slots or poker for at least another year or two.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
