Patch 11.0.5 Now Live
Major balance changes to all classes, new dungeon difficulty, and holiday events are now available. Check out the full patch notes for details.
Both Old School RuneScape (OSRS) and RuneScape (RS3) are popular MMORPGs developed by Jagex, but they cater to different player preferences. Heres a breakdown of their key differences: Gameplay & Mechanics OSRS: - Based on the 2007 version of RuneScape, with classic point-and-click mechanics. - Simpler combat system (no abilities, just auto-attacks and special attacks). - More grindy, with slower XP rates (favors long-term dedication). - PvP (Wilderness, Duel Arena) is more active and balanced. RS3: - Modernized with an action-bar combat system (similar to WoW, with abilities). - Faster leveling due to higher XP rates and quality-of-life updates. - More PvE-focused with advanced boss mechanics. - Microtransactions (MTX) like Treasure Hunter and cosmetics are prevalent. Graphics & Interface OSRS: - Retro, pixelated graphics (nostalgic for veteran players). - Minimalist UI (customizable with third-party clients like Runelite). RS3: - Updated 3D graphics, animations, and lighting effects. - More complex UI with customizable layouts. Updates & Community OSRS: - Updates are polledplayers vote on new content (ensures community-driven development). - Stronger nostalgia factor, with a mix of old and new content (e.g., Raids, new quests). - Larger active player base (100K+ concurrent players). RS3: - Updates are developer-driven, with frequent new content and expansions. - Smaller but dedicated player base (20K40K concurrent players). - More solo-friendly with instanced content. Economy & Progression OSRS: - Gold has higher value (less inflation due to no MTX). - Ironman modes (solo self-sufficient play) are very popular. RS3: - Economy is inflated due to MTX and high gold generation. - Easier to max skills, but endgame content is more complex. Which One Should You Play? Play OSRS if: - You prefer old-school, grindy gameplay. - You enjoy PvP or community-driven updates. - You want a more balanced economy. Play RS3 if: - You like modern MMO mechanics and faster progression. - You prefer PvE and high-level bossing. - You dont mind MTX or a more casual experience. Both games are free-to-play (with membership options), so you can try both! Many players enjoy OSRS for its classic feel and RS3 for its convenience and endgame content. Would you like recommendations for starting in either game?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
