Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

The 1990s were a golden era for MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), laying the foundation for the genre. Here are some of the most influential and nostalgic MMORPGs from the 90s: Meridian 59 (1996) - One of the first true 3D MMORPGs. - Featured PvP combat, guilds, and a subscription model. - Still has a small active community today. The Realm Online (1996) - One of the earliest graphical MMORPGs. - Featured turn-based combat and simple 2D graphics. - Still operational with a small player base. Ultima Online (1997) - Revolutionized the genre with open-world PvP, crafting, and housing. - One of the first MMORPGs to achieve massive success. - Still running today under Broadsword. EverQuest (1999) - The first 3D MMORPG to gain mainstream popularity. - Introduced raids, dungeons, and a punishing death system. - Still active with multiple expansions (now on EverQuest II). Asherons Call (1999) - Featured a dynamic world with monthly story updates. - Unique skill-based progression (no fixed classes). - Servers officially shut down in 2017, but fan-run emulators exist. Lineage (1998 - Korean Release) - A huge hit in Korea, paving the way for later MMOs. - Focused on large-scale PvP and castle sieges. - Still running in some regions. Honorable Mentions: - Tibia (1997) A 2D MMORPG still running today. - Dark Sun Online: Crimson Sands (1996) Early MMO based on D&D. - Neverwinter Nights (1991 AOL version) Early online RPG (not the 2002 Bioware game). Why These Games Matter: These games introduced core MMORPG mechanics like: Open-world PvP Guilds & social systems Crafting & player housing Raids & dungeons Many modern MMOs (like World of Warcraft) were inspired by these classics. Some still have private servers or fan revivals if you want to experience them today! Would you like recommendations for similar early 2000s MMOs like RuneScape or Dark Age of Camelot?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
