old gods world of warcraft
In World of Warcraft (WoW), the Old Gods are malevolent, cosmic entities of immense power, created by the Void Lords to corrupt the fabric of reality. They are central to many of Azeroth's greatest conflicts and have influenced countless events throughout the game's lore. Key Old Gods in WoW: C'Thun - Location: Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (Silithus) - Notable Influence: Controlled the Qiraji and was the first Old God encountered in WoW Classic (raid: Temple of Ahn'Qiraj). Yogg-Saron - Location: Ulduar (Northrend) - Notable Influence: Known as the "God of Death," he corrupted the Titan-forged watchers and was the main antagonist of Wrath of the Lich King's Ulduar raid. N'Zoth - Location: Ny'alotha (Black Empire, later Battle for Azeroth) - Notable Influence: Master of manipulation, responsible for corrupting Deathwing, the Emerald Nightmare, and the events of Battle for Azeroth (raid: Ny'alotha, the Waking City). Y'Shaarj (Defeated before WoW) - Remnants: Heart of Y'Shaarj (Pandaria, Mists of Pandaria) - Notable Influence: The only Old God killed by the Titans, leaving behind the Sha, which plagued Pandaria. Common Themes & Lore: Black Empire: The Old Gods once ruled Azeroth in a nightmarish empire before the Titans arrived. Corruption: They twist living beings into monstrous forms (e.g., Faceless Ones, Qiraji, N'raqi). Void & Shadow: Linked to the Void Lords, their power stems from the Shadowlands' oppositethe Void. Titan Imprisonment: The Titans (Aman'Thul, etc.) could not safely kill them without harming Azeroth, so they imprisoned them instead. Recent Developments: N'Zoth was seemingly destroyed in Battle for Azeroth, but Old Gods' influence lingers (e.g., Xal'atath, the Blade of the Black Empire). Speculation persists that they may return, as their deaths could release even greater horrors. Would you like details on a specific Old God, their minions, or related lore like the Titan-Forged or Void Lords?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
