new world foods
New World Foods refer to the foods that originated in the Americas (the "New World") and were introduced to Europe, Africa, and Asia after the Columbian Exchange (following Christopher Columbus's voyages in 1492). These foods transformed global cuisines, agriculture, and economies. Key New World Foods: Grains & Staples: Maize (Corn) A staple crop in the Americas, now a major food source worldwide. Quinoa A protein-rich grain from the Andes, now popular globally. Amaranth Another nutritious grain cultivated by the Aztecs. Vegetables: Potatoes Originated in the Andes, became a staple in Europe (especially Ireland). Tomatoes Initially feared in Europe, now essential in Italian, Mediterranean, and global cuisines. Sweet Potatoes Widely grown in the Americas, now important in Africa and Asia. Peppers (Chili & Bell) Revolutionized spicy cuisines worldwide (e.g., Indian, Thai, Mexican). Pumpkins & Squash Used by Native Americans, now popular in soups, pies, and dishes globally. Fruits: Avocados Native to Central America, now a global superfood. Pineapples Originally from South America, became a luxury in Europe. Papayas Tropical fruit from the Americas, now grown in Asia and Africa. Guavas Widely consumed in Latin America, now popular in juices and desserts. Legumes & Nuts: Beans (Kidney, Black, Lima, Pinto) Major protein sources in the Americas. Peanuts Originally from South America, now key in African and Asian cuisines. Cashews Native to Brazil, widely cultivated in India and Africa. Other Important Foods: Cacao (Chocolate) Used by the Aztecs and Mayans, now a global treat. Vanilla Derived from orchids in Mexico, essential in desserts. Tobacco Used ceremonially by Native Americans, later commercialized globally. Impact of New World Foods: Population Growth: Potatoes and maize helped sustain larger populations in Europe and Africa. Cuisine Transformations: Italian food without tomatoes or Indian food without chilies is hard to imagine today. Economic Shifts: Cash crops like sugar (grown with New World techniques) and tobacco fueled colonialism and trade. Would you like more details on any specific food or its historical impact?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
