As of my last knowledge update in June 2024, Final Fantasy XIV has not officially announced a new expansion beyond Dawntrail, which is set to release on July 2, 2024 (early access starts June 28). Dawntrail is the 5th major expansion for FFXIV and will include: Key Features of Dawntrail: New Story Arc: Following the conclusion of the Hydaelyn/Zodiark saga in Endwalker. New Job: Pictomancer (ranged magical DPS) and Viper (melee DPS). Level Cap Increase: From 90 to 100. New Regions: The continent of Tural, including tropical and desert zones. New Dungeons, Raids, and Trials: Including the Echoes of Vanadiel alliance raid (FFXI crossover). Graphical Update: Improved textures, lighting, and character models. New Beast Tribe & Allied Tribe: The Moblins (beast tribe) and Yak Tel (allied tribe). FFXVI Crossover Event: Featuring Clives outfit and Torgal as a minion. Future Expansions? Square Enix has confirmed that FFXIV will continue beyond Dawntrail, but no official details about the next expansion (likely 2026) have been shared yet. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
