Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

The main difference between MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) and RPGs (Role-Playing Games) lies in their scale, multiplayer features, and gameplay structure. Heres a breakdown: Player Interaction & Scale MMORPG: - Massively multiplayer (hundreds or thousands of players in a persistent online world). - Features shared open worlds where players interact in real-time (e.g., guilds, raids, trading, PvP). - Examples: World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, Elder Scrolls Online. RPG: - Typically single-player or small co-op (14 players). - Focuses on a personal story with limited/no interaction with other players. - Examples: The Witcher 3, Skyrim (single-player), Baldurs Gate 3 (co-op). Game World & Persistence MMORPG: - Persistent world (keeps running even when you log off). - Regular updates, expansions, and live events to keep players engaged. RPG: - Static world (progress is tied to the players save file). - Story and world changes are scripted, not dynamic. Progression & Customization MMORPG: - Grind-heavy (leveling, gear farming, reputation systems). - Often includes player-driven economies (auction houses, crafting). - Character customization is deep but may have meta builds for endgame content. RPG: - More story-driven progression (choices affect the narrative). - Flexible character builds (no pressure to follow "meta" strategies). - Often allows modding (e.g., Skyrim, Fallout). Combat & Gameplay MMORPG: - Often real-time combat with tab-targeting or action-based mechanics. - Designed for group play (dungeons, raids, battlegrounds). RPG: - Can be turn-based (e.g., Divinity: Original Sin 2) or real-time with pause (e.g., Dragon Age). - Focuses on solo or small-party tactics. Monetization MMORPG: - Often subscription-based (WoW, FFXIV) or free-to-play with microtransactions (Lost Ark, Guild Wars 2). - May include pay-to-win elements in some cases. RPG: - Usually one-time purchase (no ongoing costs). - Some have DLC expansions (e.g., Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty). Which Should You Play? Choose an MMORPG if you enjoy: - Social gameplay, guilds, and long-term progression. - Competing or cooperating with others in a living world. Choose an RPG if you prefer: - A curated story with deep character development. - Solo or small-group experiences without grinding. Would you like recommendations based on your preferences?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
