If you're looking for MMORPGs similar to RuneScape, here are some great options that share its sandbox elements, progression systems, or old-school charm: Old School RuneScape (OSRS) / RuneScape 3 - Why? The obvious choiceOSRS retains the classic 2007-style gameplay with grinding, quests, and open-world freedom, while RS3 offers modernized combat and graphics. - Platforms: PC, Mobile (iOS/Android) Albion Online - Why? Full-loot PvP, player-driven economy, and classless progression (gear defines your role). Focuses on crafting, guild wars, and territory control. - Platforms: PC, Mobile (iOS/Android) Black Desert Online (BDO) - Why? Deep life skills (fishing, trading, farming), action combat, and a vast open world. More grindy but visually stunning. - Platforms: PC, Console (Xbox/PS), Mobile (Black Desert Mobile) Tibia - Why? One of the oldest MMORPGs (1997) with a hardcore, open-world feel. Retro graphics, PvP, and a strong community. - Platforms: PC Melvor Idle - Why? A RuneScape-inspired idle game that captures the skilling grind in a simplified, offline format. - Platforms: PC, Mobile (iOS/Android) Ultima Online (UO) / Free Shards - Why? The granddaddy of sandbox MMOs with player housing, full loot, and open-ended gameplay (similar to early RuneScape). - Platforms: PC (Official & Private Servers) Project Gorgon - Why? A quirky, old-school MMO with deep skill progression, no hand-holding, and a focus on exploration. - Platforms: PC (Early Access) Dofus / Wakfu - Why? Turn-based tactical MMOs with a heavy focus on economy, crafting, and guild politics. - Platforms: PC New World - Why? Sandbox-lite with crafting, territory wars, and a player-driven economy (though less skill-based than RuneScape). - Platforms: PC AdventureQuest 3D - Why? A casual, cross-platform MMO with RuneScape-like humor and simple mechanics. - Platforms: PC, Mobile (iOS/Android) Honorable Mentions: Guild Wars 2 (for exploration & dynamic events) EVE Online (if you like economy & PvP, but sci-fi) Mabinogi (life skills & social focus) Looking for something specific? The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
