Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Developing an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in first-person perspective presents unique challenges and opportunities compared to traditional third-person MMORPGs. Heres a breakdown of key considerations: Why First-Person in an MMORPG? Immersive Experience: First-person enhances immersion, making exploration, combat, and interactions feel more personal (e.g., The Elder Scrolls Online's optional 1st-person mode). Unique Combat: Melee/ranged combat feels more visceral (think Skyrim or Dark Messiah of Might and Magic). VR Potential: First-person is ideal for VR MMORPGs (e.g., Zenith: The Last City). Challenges Visibility: Limited peripheral vision can be problematic in crowded battles or large-scale PvP. Motion Sickness: Fast movements or camera shakes may discomfort some players. Character Customization: Players see less of their avatar, reducing the incentive for cosmetic investments. Social Interaction: Non-verbal cues (emotes, animations) are harder to notice. Design Solutions Hybrid Camera: Allow players to switch between 1st and 3rd person (like ESO or Star Wars Galaxies). UI Clarity: Use minimalist HUDs with contextual prompts to avoid clutter. Combat Adjustments: - Wider FOV (Field of View) settings. - Audio cues (e.g., footsteps behind you) to compensate for limited vision. - Physics-based interactions (e.g., blocking attacks with a shield in real-time). Movement Options: Include toggles for head bobbing, camera smoothing, or teleportation (for VR). Successful Examples The Elder Scrolls Online: Optional 1st-person with strong immersion. Mortal Online 2: Hardcore sandbox MMORPG with forced 1st-person melee combat. Darkfall Online: Full-loot PvP MMORPG with 1st-person aiming. VR MMORPGs: Zenith, OrbusVR. Technical Considerations Netcode: First-person requires precise hit detection and low latency. Animations: Arm/weapon animations must be highly polished (players see them constantly). Performance: Dense environments (cities, raids) need optimization to maintain high FPS. Target Audience Niche Appeal: First-person MMORPGs attract players seeking immersion over traditional MMO convenience. PvP Focus: Competitive players may prefer the skill-based aiming of 1st-person (e.g., Darkfall). Would You Like Suggestions For...? Game Engines (Unity, Unreal, Custom)? Combat Systems (Action-based, Tab-targeting, Hybrid)? Monetization Models (Subscription, Buy-to-Play, Free-to-Play)? VR Integration? Let me know how deep youd like to dive!

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
