machinist final fantasy xiv
In Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV), the Machinist (MCH) is a ranged physical DPS (Damage Per Dealer) job introduced in the Heavensward expansion. It wields firearms and uses gadgets to deal high burst damage while offering strong mobility and utility. Heres a breakdown of the Machinists key features: Job Overview Role: Ranged Physical DPS Weapon: Firearms (e.g., guns, rifles, revolvers) Armor: Aiming gear (shared with Bard and Dancer) Playstyle: High burst damage, flexible mobility, and straightforward rotations with a focus on heat management and robot summons. Key Mechanics & Abilities Heat Gauge - Machinists generate Heat by using certain abilities (e.g., Heat Blast). - Managing Heat is crucial for maximizing damage via Hypercharge (a burst phase). Battery Gauge - Used to summon automatons: - Automaton Queen (or Rook Autoturret at lower levels): Deploys a robot that executes powerful attacks. - Bioblaster (AoE DoT) and Drill (high-potency single-target) are key damage tools. Wildfire (Lv. 45+) - A signature ability that marks a target; all damage dealt within 10 seconds is added to a final explosive hit. Mobility & Utility - Tactician (party mitigation) and Dismantle (enemy debuff) offer raid utility. - Peloton (out-of-combat speed boost). Rotation & Playstyle Single-Target: Focuses on weaving Heat Blast during Hypercharge, using Drill/Air Anchor on cooldown, and summoning Automaton Queen for burst phases. AoE: Relies on Spread Shot, Bioblaster, and Flamethrower (situational). Burst Phases: Align Wildfire, Queen, and Reassemble (guaranteed crit/direct hit) for maximum damage. Pros & Cons Pros Cons High burst damage Lower sustained DPS than some jobs Excellent mobility Limited party buffs (selfish DPS) Simple positionals (none!) Reliant on ping for optimal weaving Unlock Requirements Starting Level: 30 (must own Heavensward). How to Unlock: Complete the quest "Savior of Skysteel" in Ishgard (Foundation, x:13.2, y:12.8). Endgame (Level 90) Tips Prioritize Drill and Air Anchor on cooldown. Use Hypercharge under Reassemble for crits. Optimize Wildfire timing in raid buff windows. Glamour (Fashion) Highlights Iconic sets: Sky Pirate, Skysteel Engineer, Late Allagan gear. Popular weapons: Deathlocke, Augmented Laws Order Revolver. Machinist is a great pick for players who enjoy a mix of gunplay, mecha summons, and a flexible rotation. Its especially rewarding for fans of high-speed, proc-based gameplay. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
