Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Korean MMORPGs from the 2000s were a golden era for the genre, introducing many iconic titles that gained massive popularity in Asia and globally. Here are some of the most notable Korean MMORPGs from that decade: Lineage (1998) & Lineage II (2003) - Developer: NCSoft - Key Features: Open-world PvP, castle sieges, guild warfare, and a strong emphasis on grinding. - Legacy: One of the most influential Korean MMORPGs, especially in South Korea, where it dominated PC bangs (Internet cafes). Ragnarok Online (2002) - Developer: Gravity - Key Features: Cartoonish 2D sprite-based graphics, job system, and a vibrant community. - Legacy: One of the most beloved MMORPGs of the 2000s, with a strong private server scene even today. MU Online (2003) - Developer: Webzen - Key Features: Fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay, flashy skills, and a heavy grind. - Legacy: Popular in Southeast Asia and South America; known for its "Wings" upgrade system. MapleStory (2003) - Developer: Nexon (Wizet) - Key Features: 2D side-scrolling MMORPG, cute art style, and casual-friendly gameplay. - Legacy: One of the most successful free-to-play MMORPGs, still running today with global servers. RF Online (2004) - Developer: CCR - Key Features: Sci-fi/fantasy hybrid, three faction PvP, and massive chip wars. - Legacy: Known for its competitive faction-based warfare. FlyFF (Fly For Fun) (2004) - Developer: Gala Lab - Key Features: Flying mounts, colorful world, and a social-focused experience. - Legacy: One of the more casual-friendly Korean MMORPGs of its time. Silkroad Online (2005) - Developer: Joymax - Key Features: Open-world trading system, caravan PvP, and a mix of fantasy and historical themes. - Legacy: Known for its unique "Thief vs Hunter vs Trader" dynamic. Cabal Online (2005) - Developer: ESTsoft - Key Features: Fast combat, combo-based skill system, and dungeon-focused gameplay. - Legacy: Popular in the West and still running today. Granado Espada (Sword of the New World) (2006) - Developer: IMC Games - Key Features: Baroque-style setting, multi-character control (MCC), and unique art direction. - Legacy: One of the most visually distinct MMORPGs of its time. Aion (2008) - Developer: NCSoft - Key Features: Stunning graphics (for its time), aerial combat, and faction-based PvPvE. - Legacy: A major competitor to Western MMORPGs like World of Warcraft. Honorable Mentions: - TalesWeaver (2003) More of an online RPG with a strong story focus. - Dekaron (2Moons) (2006) Hardcore PvP-focused MMORPG. - Lunia: Record of Lunia War (2007) Action-based dungeon crawler with a chibi art style. - Dragonica (2009) 3D side-scrolling MMORPG. Why Were These Games Special? Grind-heavy but rewarding Many Korean MMORPGs emphasized long-term progression. PvP & Social Systems Guild wars, open-world PvP, and faction battles were common. Unique Art Styles From MapleStorys cute 2D to Aions high-fantasy 3D. PC Bang Culture Many thrived in Korean Internet cafes with bonuses for playing there. Would you like recommendations based on a specific playstyle (PvP, PvE, casual, etc.)?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
