Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

The short answer is: Not generally, but some specific models can be used for gaming. Heres the breakdown to help you understand the difference: The General Rule: No, It's Not a Gaming Laptop Most HP Pavilion laptops are designed as mainstream consumer laptops for everyday tasks like: Web browsing Watching videos Word processing and spreadsheets Zoom calls Light photo editing They are built for general productivity and entertainment, not high-end gaming. They typically have: Lower-power processors (like Intel Core i5 or i3 U-series or AMD Ryzen 3/5 U-series). Integrated graphics (Intel UHD/Iris Xe or AMD Radeon Graphics). These are not powerful enough for modern, demanding games (like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, or Elden Ring). A "standard" design thin, light, often plastic, and not optimized for the heat and fan noise of gaming. Lower-resolution displays (often 1366x768 or 1920x1080 with lower refresh rates like 60Hz). The Exception: HP Pavilion Gaming (Discontinued) HP used to have a specific sub-line called the HP Pavilion Gaming series (also known as Pavilion Power in some regions). These models were gaming laptops, and they had: A dedicated graphics card (like an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, 1060, 1650, or 1660 Ti). More powerful processors (H-series Intel or H-series AMD). Better cooling with dual fans. Gaming-centric design (often with "gamer" aesthetics like red backlighting). Important: HP has since moved this "budget gaming" role to the HP Victus line. The Victus is the direct successor to the Pavilion Gaming series. How to Tell if Your Specific Pavilion Can Game If you have an HP Pavilion or are looking at one to buy for gaming, look for these three key things: Model Number: - HP Pavilion 14/15 (without "gaming" or specific GPU): Almost certainly not for gaming. - HP Pavilion Gaming 15/16: This is a gaming laptop (older model). - HP Victus: This is the current budget gaming line (essentially the new Pavilion Gaming). Graphics Card (GPU): This is the most important factor. - Good for gaming: You need a dedicated GPU like an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, RTX 2050, RTX 3050, or AMD Radeon RX 5000/6000 series or higher. - Bad for gaming: If it only says "Intel UHD", "Intel Iris Xe", or "AMD Radeon Graphics" (without a number like RX 560), it's not a gaming laptop. Processor (CPU): - Look for Intel Core i5 / i7 H-series (e.g., i5-11300H, i7-12700H) or AMD Ryzen 5 / 7 H-series (e.g., Ryzen 5 5600H, Ryzen 7 5800H). - U-series processors (like i5-1235U) are power-savers, not for heavy gaming. Summary Table Laptop Series Can It Run Modern Games? Best For : : : HP Pavilion (standard) No (for demanding games) Office work, school, Netflix, light browsing HP Pavilion Gaming (discontinued) Yes (older, but solid budget option) Entry-level to mid-range gaming HP Victus (current) Yes (the direct replacement) Budget to mid-range gaming HP OMEN Yes (high-performance) Serious, high-end gaming Final Verdict Is a standard HP Pavilion a gaming laptop? No. Can you play games on a standard HP Pavilion? Yes, but only very old, low-demand games (like Minecraft, Roblox, Stardew Valley, CS:GO on low settings, or indie titles). Should you buy a standard HP Pavilion for modern AAA gaming? Absolutely not. It will struggle, overheat, and give you a poor experience. What should you buy for gaming on a budget? Look for an HP Victus (the current one) or a used HP Pavilion Gaming model. Alternatively, check out Lenovo LOQ, Acer Nitro, or ASUS TUF. Bottom line: If it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA GTX/RTX or AMD RX), it's not a gaming laptop.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
