ice mining eve online
In EVE Online, ice mining is a specialized form of resource gathering where players extract ice asteroids to obtain ice products, which are essential for fuel production (such as Strontium Clathrates for jump drives) and manufacturing. Heres a detailed breakdown: Where to Mine Ice High-Security Space (Hi-Sec): - Ice fields are found in specific systems (e.g., Jita, Dodixie, Amarr). - Less dangerous, but competition and ganking can occur. - Lower yields compared to low/null-sec. Low-Security Space (Low-Sec): - Higher ice yields, but risk of PvP. - Requires caution and possibly a scout. Null-Security Space (Null-Sec) & Wormholes: - Best yields, but high risk of PvP. - Often controlled by alliances with ice mining fleets and defense. Faction Warfare Ice Belts: - Some faction warfare zones have ice belts that can be contested. Ice Types & Uses Ice Type Refined Product Primary Use Glare Crust Heavy Water Fuel blocks, reactions Dark Glitter Liquid Ozone Capital ship fuel Gelidus Strontium Clathrates Jump drives, POS fuel Krystallos Oxygen Isotopes Fuel blocks, reactions White Glaze Nitrogen Isotopes Fuel blocks, reactions Thick Blue Ice Helium Isotopes Capital ship fuel, reactions Best Ships for Ice Mining Beginner: - Venture (T1 mining frigate) Fast, cheap, and has ice mining bonuses. Intermediate: - Procurer / Skiff (T1/T2 barge/exhumer) Tankier, good for solo/small groups. Advanced: - Mackinaw (T2 exhumer) Best yield for solo ice miners. - Orca / Porpoise (Industrial Command Ships) Fleet boosts + large hold. - Rorqual (Capital industrial) Best for large-scale mining (requires skill & protection). Ice Mining Mechanics Cycle Time: Ice mining takes longer than regular asteroid mining (1 cycle = 1 min). Yield per Cycle: Depends on ship, skills, and boosts. Compression: Ice can be compressed (e.g., in a Rorqual) for easier transport. Profitability & Market Check prices in hubs (Jita, Amarr, Dodixie) before mining. Strontium Clathrates (from Gelidus) are often in demand for jump drives. Fuel blocks (made from ice products) are always needed for structures. Risks & Countermeasures Gankers in Hi-Sec: Use tanky ships (Procurer/Skiff) or mine in quiet systems. PvP in Low/Null: Use scouts, warp core stabilizers, or mine in fleets. Bubble Camps in Null: Use an interceptor alt or a cloaked scout. Boosts & Efficiency Mining Foreman Burst (from Orca/Porpoise/Rorqual) boosts yield. Ice Harvesting skill (reduces cycle time). Mining Laser Upgrade rigs/modules help. Ice Anomalies & Events Some events introduce special ice anomalies with rare variants. Final Tips Join a mining corp for safety in null-sec. Use a hauler alt or compression to reduce trips. Watch local chat for hostiles. Would you like specific fits for ice mining ships? Or details on refining ice into fuel blocks?

Venture into the depths of Azeroth itself in this groundbreaking expansion. Face new threats emerging from the planet's core, explore mysterious underground realms, and uncover secrets that will reshape your understanding of the Warcraft universe forever.
The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
