guild wars 2 elementalist
The Elementalist in Guild Wars 2 is a high-damage, versatile profession that wields the four elemental attunements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Known for its complex rotation and squishy nature, the Elementalist excels in both PvE (raids, fractals, open world) and PvP/WvW, offering strong AoE damage, support, and condition-based builds. Elementalist Key Features: Attunements Swap between four elements on the fly, each with unique skills: - Fire High burst damage, burning conditions. - Water Healing, chill, and support. - Air Critical strikes, mobility, and crowd control. - Earth Bleeding, protection, and defensive skills. Weapon Choices Different playstyles based on weapons: - Staff Large AoE, great for WvW zergs. - Scepter Mid-range, strong condi/burst. - Dagger (Main/Offhand) Melee-focused, high mobility. - Focus Defensive/utility offhand. - Tempest (Elite Spec) Can use Warhorn for support. - Weaver (Elite Spec) Gains Sword for hybrid melee combat. Elite Specializations: - Tempest (HoT) Overloads attunements for powerful AoE effects, strong in healing/support (Auramancer) or DPS. - Weaver (PoF) Dual-attunement mixing for high APM melee combat, hybrid damage/sustain. - Catalyst (EoD) Uses a Hammer and jade spheres for combo-heavy gameplay, strong in power DPS. Popular Builds (2024): PvE (Endgame - Raids/Fractals) Power Weaver (Sword/Dagger or Staff) High burst, complex rotation. Condi Weaver (Scepter/Focus) Strong condition damage (burn/bleed). Heal Tempest (Staff/Warhorn) Meta support with auras, cleanses, and healing. Open World & Solo Play Celestial Weaver/Tempest Balanced stats for survivability + damage. Marauder Fresh Air Tempest High crits with air overloads. WvW / PvP Fresh Air Tempest (Dagger/Warhorn) Burst damage in PvP. Support Tempest (Staff/Auras) Team heals in WvW zergs. Catalyst (Hammer) Strong in small-scale WvW. Strengths & Weaknesses: Pros: High damage potential (power & condi). Versatile roles (DPS, healer, hybrid). Strong AoE and combo fields. Fast-paced, rewarding gameplay (Weaver). Cons: Squishy (low base health/armor). Complex rotations (high APM). Dependent on positioning/dodging. Weaver requires precise timing. Tips for New Elementalists: Learn Attunement Swapping Fluid rotations maximize DPS/survival. Use Combos Blast fire fields for might, water for healing. Positioning Matters Stay mobile to avoid damage. Tempest is Beginner-Friendly Simpler than Weaver/Catalyst. Slot Stun Breaks Lightning Flash, Mist Form, or Arcane Shield help survivability. Current Meta (2024) PvE: Power Weaver and Condi Tempest are strong. Catalyst is niche but viable. WvW: Tempest (support) and Catalyst (DPS) see play. PvP: Fresh Air Tempest and Weaver are competitive. Would you like a detailed rotation or gear setup for a specific build?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
