guild wars 2 class tier list
In Guild Wars 2, class (profession) performance varies depending on the game mode (PvE, WvW, PvP) and the current balance patch. Below is a general tier list based on the June 2024 meta, focusing on endgame viability (raids, strikes, fractals, WvW, and PvP). PvE (Raids, Strikes, Fractals) Tier List (DPS/Support roles, assuming optimal play) S-Tier (Meta-Defining, Highly Desired) Elementalist (Catalyst/Weaver) Top-tier DPS, strong utility. Guardian (Firebrand/Willbender) Best offensive support (Quickness Firebrand), strong DPS. Mesmer (Virtuoso/Chronomancer) High burst DPS (Virtuoso), best Alacrity support (Chronomancer). Necromancer (Reaper/Scourge) Easy high DPS, great survivability. A-Tier (Strong, Reliable Picks) Engineer (Mechanist/Holosmith) Great DPS and support (Alacrity Mech). Revenant (Herald/Renegade) Strong boon support (Quick/Alac), decent DPS. Ranger (Soulbeast/Untamed) High burst DPS, Druid for healing. B-Tier (Viable but Niche or Outclassed) Thief (Specter/Deadeye) Strong single-target DPS, but lacks utility. Warrior (Berserker/Bladesworn) Good DPS, but overshadowed by others. C-Tier (Weak or Requires High Effort for Low Reward) Engineer (Scrapper) Decent support, but outshined by Firebrand/Mech. Warrior (Spellbreaker) Mostly PvP/WvW focused. WvW (Zerg/Group Play) Tier List S-Tier (Meta Staples) Guardian (Firebrand) Best support (stability, heals, cleanses). Necromancer (Scourge) Barrier spam, AoE pressure. Elementalist (Tempest) Strong AoE heals and cleanses. A-Tier (Strong Contributors) Revenant (Herald) Boon spam, frontline pressure. Mesmer (Chronomancer) Veil, pulls, and boon strip. Engineer (Scrapper) Superspeed, stealth, and cleanses. B-Tier (Niche or Situational) Ranger (Druid) Some healing, but less desired. Warrior (Spellbreaker) Boon strip, but squishy. C-Tier (Rarely Used in Zergs) Thief (Deadeye/Daredevil) Mostly for roaming. PvP (Conquest) Tier List S-Tier (Top Meta Picks) Necromancer (Harbinger/Scourge) High sustain and pressure. Guardian (Willbender) High mobility and burst. Mesmer (Chronomancer/Mirage) Strong CC and evasion. A-Tier (Strong but Not OP) Ranger (Soulbeast) High burst, good mobility. Engineer (Holosmith/Mechanist) Versatile, strong dueling. Revenant (Herald/Vindicator) Sustain and teamfight presence. B-Tier (Viable but Harder to Play) Elementalist (Catalyst/Weaver) High skill ceiling. Thief (Specter/Daredevil) Good decap, but squishy. C-Tier (Weak or Outclassed) Warrior (Berserker/Spellbreaker) Struggles in current meta. Final Notes: Balance changes frequently, so check patch notes. Player skill > Tier List Many "lower-tier" builds can excel in the right hands. Team composition matters Some classes shine in synergy (e.g., Firebrand + Scourge in WvW). The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
