ArenaNet officially announced the fourth expansion, titled Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, in August 2023. Key Details About Secrets of the Obscure: Release Date: Launched in August 2023 (with subsequent updates in 2024). Setting: Focuses on the Mist realms, including the Wizards Tower and the demonic realm of Nayos. New Features: - Weapon Mastery: All professions can now use weapons previously locked to other specs. - Relic System: Replaces rune bonuses with customizable relics. - Skyscale Mastery Expansion: New abilities for the mount. - Fractals & Strike Missions: New endgame content. - Story: Follows the aftermath of End of Dragons, dealing with the mysterious Astral Ward and the threat of Eparch. Future Updates (2024 and Beyond) ArenaNet has confirmed that Secrets of the Obscure will receive multiple major updates (similar to Living World but integrated into the expansion). The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
