Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Here is a breakdown of what to expect from thin gaming laptops, their key trade-offs, and the best current models available as of late 2024. The short version: Thin gaming laptops are about portability, not pure power. You will sacrifice performance, heat management, and upgradeability for a slimmer profile. The Core Trade-offs of Thin Gaming Laptops Pro (Why buy one?) Con (The compromise) : : Highly Portable - Fits in a standard backpack Lower Wattage GPUs - A "130W" RTX 4070 in a thin laptop is slower than a "140W" one in a thick laptop. Premium Build - Often use magnesium alloy or aluminum Thermal Throttling - They get hot and loud, as fans struggle to cool thin fins. Clean Aesthetic - Often blend in with business laptops Soldered RAM - Many models have memory glued to the motherboard (no upgrade). Good for Students / Travelers Weaker Battery Life - Small batteries + powerful components = short runtime. The 3 "Tiers" of Thin Gaming Laptops Tier 1: The Premium Masterpieces (Best Build) These are the holy grail of thin gaming extremely light, gorgeous screens, but very expensive. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 / G16 - The King: The absolute best balance of thinness (<1.5kg for 14", 1.9kg for 16"), power, and battery life. - Why: OLED screens (G16), excellent speakers, AMD CPU for efficiency. - Downside: Soldered RAM (you must pick 16GB or 32GB at purchase), expensive. Razer Blade 16 - The MacBook of Gaming: Unibody aluminum chassis, insane build quality. - Why: Best trackpad in gaming, excellent 16:10 Mini-LED screen option. - Downside: Notorious for battery swelling after 1-2 years, runs hot, very expensive. LG UltraGear 17 (formerly LG Gram) - The Featherweight: Weighs under 1.5kg (3.2 lbs) lighter than some ultrabooks. - Why: Incredible portability. - Downside: Extremely limited GPU options (max RTX 4050/4060), not a hardcore gaming machine. Tier 2: The Value Sweet Spot (Best Bang for Buck) Thin-ish (0.7-0.8 inches) but with better cooling and GPU wattage. Lenovo Legion Slim 5 / 7i - The Compromise King: Thinner than the full Legion, but keeps full-power GPUs (115W+). - Why: Excellent cooling, full-size keyboard with numpad, good price. - Downside: Not as thin as the Zephyrus, plastic-heavy on the 5i. Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (Slim variant) - Why: Great screen (500+ nits), good thermals, usually cheaper than ASUS/Razer. - Downside: Bulky charger, loud fans. HP OMEN Transcend 16 - Why: Clean, minimalist design, good build, decent battery life for Intel. - Downside: GPU wattage is capped (100W), making it slower than the Legion. Tier 3: The "Gaming Ultrabook" (Thinnest, but Weakest) These look like a normal laptop but have a discrete GPU. For light gaming (e.g., Fortnite, Valorant, Overwatch). Dell XPS 15 / 16 (with RTX 4060) - Most beautiful screen, worst cooling. Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 - Unique hinge, stylus support, but GPU is max RTX 4060 and throttles hard. MacBook Pro (with M3/M4 Pro or Max) - Best battery life, silent. But no native Windows gaming (no anti-cheat, no Game Pass native). Only for Apple Arcade. How to Choose (The Math) Screen Size: 14" (best portability) vs. 16" (best gaming experience). CPU: - Intel Core i7-13700H / 13900H (13th gen) or i7-14650HX (14th gen) = Best for gaming. - AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS / 9 7940HS = Better battery life, slightly slower gaming. GPU Wattage (Critical): - Thin laptop: Often capped at 80W-100W (RTX 4060/4070). It will perform like a desktop RTX 3060. - Thick laptop: Can run at 140W (RTX 4070). It will be 15-25% faster. - Rule: Don't buy a thin laptop with an RTX 4080 or 4090. They are too hot and throttled waste of money. Final Recommendation Your Need Best Pick : : I need the thinnest possible 14" for school and gaming. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (RTX 4060 or 4070) I want a thin 16" that doesn't burn my lap. Lenovo Legion Slim 7i (RTX 4070) I want the best build quality, no compromises. Razer Blade 16 (RTX 4070) but buy extended warranty. I'm on a budget but want thin. ASUS TUF Dash F15 (RTX 4060) not thin, but lighter than the full TUF. I only play esports titles (Valorant, CS2). ASUS ROG Flow X13 (RTX 4050) 2-in-1 convertible, very thin. Bottom Line: If you truly prioritize portability over raw power, get a Zephyrus G14 with an RTX 4070. If you need a workhorse that can still fit in a bag, get a Lenovo Legion Slim 5.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
