Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Heres everything you need to know about buying a gaming laptop at Micro Center. Micro Center is one of the best physical retailers for gaming laptops because they often have exclusive in-store deals, a wide selection of brands (including their own house brand PowerSpec), and knowledgeable staff (depending on the location). Key Advantages of Buying at Micro Center Open Box Deals: This is the #1 reason to go. You can save 10-20%+ on a laptop just because the box was opened and returned. They are fully tested and have the same warranty. Price Matching: They will match prices from Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, etc. (check their specific policy for conditions). House Brand (PowerSpec): They sell their own line of gaming laptops (usually built by Clevo or Tongfang). These often offer better specs for the price than big brands, though they may have slightly less premium build quality or battery life. In-Store Stock: You can walk in, touch the keyboard, feel the screen hinge, and test the trackpad. This is impossible online. Support & Repairs: You can bring it back to the store for warranty service, rather than shipping it off to a manufacturer. What to Check Before You Go Check Online Inventory: Micro Centers website shows real-time stock for each store. If it says "Low Stock" or "Call Store," call ahead to have them hold it. Look for "Open Box" on the Website: Filter by your store. Open Box savings are often massive (e.g., a 1,500 laptop for 1,100). Sign Up for Email: They frequently send out coupons for specific categories (e.g., "50 off any gaming laptop over 1,000"). Best Gaming Laptops to Look For at Micro Center (Current Gen) (Prices fluctuate, but these are typical ranges) Budget Price Range Recommended Specs Models to Look For : : : : Entry Level 700 1000 RTX 3050/4050, i5/Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD PowerSpec 1520 (great value), ASUS TUF A15, Lenovo LOQ, Dell G16 Mid Range 1000 1400 RTX 4060, i7/Ryzen 7, 1440p 165Hz screen HP Victus 16 (often on sale), Lenovo Legion 5 (best build/thermals), ASUS ROG Strix G16 High End 1400 2000 RTX 4070, i9/Ryzen 9, QHD 240Hz screen ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14/G16 (portable), Lenovo Legion Pro 5, PowerSpec 1710 (desktop CPU replacement) Enthusiast 2000+ RTX 4080/4090, Mini LED screen, 32GB+ RAM ASUS ROG Scar 16, MSI Titan, Razer Blade 16 The "PowerSpec" Advantage (Micro Centers Brand) If you care about raw performance per dollar, PowerSpec is hard to beat. What they are: They use standard chassis (often from Clevo) and fill them with the latest top-tier components. Pros: Cheaper than big brands for same specs. Often have Desktop-class CPUs (e.g., an Intel Core i7-14700K instead of a laptop i9). Very upgradeable (RAM, SSD, sometimes even CPU). Cons: Battery life is often poor (3-4 hours max). Build quality is plastic-heavy. Support is through Micro Center, not a global manufacturer. Fans can be loud. Best for: People who keep their laptop plugged in 90% of the time and want maximum performance for the price. Tips for Your Visit Check the Open Box section first. It's usually a wall of laptops with yellow tags. Ask a staff member where it is. Ask about the display model. If they have a floor model, you can test the keyboard and screen quality before buying a sealed box. Don't forget the warranty. Micro Center offers their own extended warranty plans. For a gaming laptop, the 99-149 2-year plan can be a good deal because they cover accidental damage (spills, drops) which manufacturer warranties do not. Avoid low-end "gaming" laptops with only 8GB of RAM and a GTX 1650. Those are e-waste. Get at least an RTX 3050/4050 and 16GB RAM. Summary: Is Micro Center the Best Place? Yes, if: You want an open box deal, need to see it in person, want a PowerSpec, or want easy returns. Maybe not, if: You are looking for the absolute longest battery life (MacBook or ultra-thin gaming laptops like Zephyrus G14 are better), or if you live far from a store (only 25 locations in the US). Final advice: Go to Microcenter.com, set your store, filter by "Gaming Laptops," sort by "Price: Low to High," and look for open box items. Thats your best chance at a steal.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
