Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Finding the right HP gaming laptop depends heavily on your budget and what kind of games you want to play (esports like Valorant vs. AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077). HP primarily has two main gaming lines right now: Victus (budget-friendly) and OMEN (high-performance/premium). Here is a breakdown of the current state of HP gaming laptops, which models are worth buying, and which to be cautious about. The Two Main Series HP Victus (The Budget King) Target: Casual gamers, students, budget-conscious buyers. Pros: Best price-to-performance ratio. Often has a clean, "stealth" look (not too gamery). Good for 1080p gaming. Cons: Build quality is mostly plastic. The cooling system is adequate but not top-tier. The screen hinges can feel a bit loose on some models. Recommendation: The Victus 16 is a solid choice for high-refresh-rate 1080p gaming on a budget. The Victus 15 is smaller but has worse cooling. HP OMEN (The Premium Performer) Target: Enthusiasts, competitive gamers, creators. Pros: Much better build quality (magnesium/aluminum), superior cooling (OMEN Tempest Cooling), better screens (higher brightness, better color accuracy), better keyboards. Cons: More expensive for the same specs as a Victus or competitor (like Lenovo Legion). Recommendation: The OMEN 16 is the sweet spot. The OMEN Transcend 16 is the ultra-thin/light version (premium price, runs hotter). Which HP Gaming Laptop Should You Buy? (2024-2025 Recommendations) Best Overall Value: HP Victus 16 Specs to look for: Ryzen 7 7840HS / Intel i5-13500H, RTX 4060, 16GB RAM, 144Hz screen. Why: The RTX 4060 is the "goldilocks" GPU for 1080p high settings. The Ryzen 7 version has excellent battery life for a gaming laptop. Best for: Fortnite, Apex, GTA V, Call of Duty. Best Performance/Build: HP OMEN 16 Specs to look for: Intel i7-14650HX or AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS, RTX 4070, 16GB RAM, QHD 240Hz screen. Why: The 4070 can handle 1440p gaming much better than the 4060. The build is significantly sturdier, and the thermals keep the laptop quiet under load. Best for: Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, streaming, video editing. The "Premium but Thinner" Option: HP OMEN Transcend 16 Specs to look for: Intel i9-13900H, RTX 4070, 32GB RAM, Mini LED screen (great for HDR). Why: Very thin and light (under 5lbs). The Mini LED screen is beautiful. Downside: It uses liquid metal cooling, which can be hit-or-miss (some units run hotter than standard OMENs). It's expensive. Important Warnings & Buying Tips AVOID the "HP Pavilion Gaming" or "HP Gaming 15" (older models) : These are outdated, have terrible screens (low brightness, 45% NTSC color), poor cooling, and are not worth buying even at a heavy discount in 2024. Screen Quality is a Trap: HP often sells the same laptop with two very different screens. Bad Screen: 60Hz, 250 nits, 45% NTSC (looks washed out). Good Screen: 144Hz+, 300+ nits, 100% sRGB (looks vibrant). Always check the product listing to ensure you are getting the high-refresh screen. RAM is Often Soldered? Victus: RAM is usually not soldered (upgradeable). OMEN 16: RAM is not soldered (upgradeable). OMEN Transcend 16: RAM is soldered (static). Buy the right amount from the start. Wait for Sales: HP's "MSRP" is a fantasy. A Victus 16 with an RTX 4060 should cost 800-900. An OMEN 16 with an RTX 4060/4070 should cost 1,100-1,400. Do not pay full list price. Final Verdict Budget Conscious & Casual Gamer? HP Victus 16 (with an RTX 4060). Serious Gamer & Want a Durable Machine? HP OMEN 16 (with an RTX 4070). Don't buy: Older "Pavilion Gaming" models or any HP with a 60Hz screen unless it's for office work. Competitive Note: If you are not specifically loyal to HP, also look at the Lenovo Legion 5 and ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 for comparison. They often beat HP on battery life and raw performance in the same price bracket.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
