"Foul Play in Love" is a 2024 Chinese romantic comedy (rom-com) drama starring Xu Kai Cheng and Liu Xun. The show is a light-hearted, fluffy, and often over-the-top series that plays with typical romance tropes, particularly the "love-hate" or "enemies to lovers" dynamic. Heres a breakdown of the plot and key details for a search like yours: Quick Synopsis The story follows Su Nian (played by Liu Xun), a hardworking and honest "love consultant" who runs a successful matchmaking business. Her life is turned upside down when she is hired to help Gu Xizhou (played by Xu Kai Cheng), the arrogant and cynical CEO of a high-end dating app company. He believes love is just a data-driven algorithm, while she believes in genuine human connection. They make a "deal" to prove which method is better. Su Nian tries to coach Gu Xizhou to be a better romantic partner, but in the process of this "work project," they end up falling for each other, leading to a fake relationship that turns real. Key Themes & Tropes Enemies to Lovers: They start off clashing intensely due to their opposing views on love. Fake Relationship: A central plot device where they pretend to be in a relationship for work reasons. Workplace Romance: They are professional rivals who work in the same industry (matchmaking/dating apps). Contract/Dare: The entire premise is based on a bet or a contract to see whose love philosophy is correct. Forced Proximity: A common trope used through work events and schemes. Heartfelt Elements: Despite the comedy, it explores themes of loneliness, trust, and the fear of vulnerability. Main Characters Su Nian (Liu Xun): A cheerful, idealistic, and sometimes clumsy "love expert" who genuinely wants to help people find love. She is the emotional core of the show. Gu Xizhou (Xu Kai Cheng): A cold, reserved, and data-driven CEO. He is initially dismissive of emotions but slowly unravels as he falls for Su Nian's warmth. Xu Kai Cheng is known for roles in dramas like The Love You Give Me and Falling into Your Smile. Is it Worth Watching? Pros: The chemistry between the leads is very strong. Liu Xun and Xu Kai Cheng have a fun, bickering dynamic that evolves naturally. The show is also short (24 episodes), which keeps the pacing snappy and avoids major filler episodes. The comedic timing is good, and the drama doesn't take itself too seriously. Cons: The plot is very predictable and relies on standard rom-com clichés. The secondary couple's storyline can be a bit dull. The "villain" archetype is also very one-dimensional. If you're looking for a deep, complex drama, this isn't it. This is pure, unadulterated fluff. Where to Watch Viki Youku Tencent Video (WeTV) Final Verdict: If you enjoy light-hearted, no-stress romantic comedies with tropes you already love, Foul Play in Love is a delightful binge-watch. Its perfect for a lazy afternoon when you want something sweet and funny. It delivers exactly what it promises: fun "foul play" in the game of love.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
