Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) features a diverse range of classes and jobs, each with unique roles and playstyles. The game divides them into four main categories: Tanks, Healers, Melee DPS, Ranged Physical DPS, and Ranged Magical DPS. Heres a breakdown of all available jobs as of Endwalker (Patch 6.5): Tanks (Defensive, high survivability, party protection) Paladin (PLD) Sword & shield, holy magic, and strong defensive cooldowns. Warrior (WAR) Axe-wielding, self-healing powerhouse with high sustain. Dark Knight (DRK) Greatsword user, focuses on MP management and burst damage. Gunbreaker (GNB) Gunblade wielder with combo-heavy, high-damage tanking. Healers (Support, HP recovery, damage mitigation) White Mage (WHM) Straightforward healing with strong regens and burst heals. Scholar (SCH) Shield-based healing with a fairy pet for additional support. Astrologian (AST) Card-based buffs, with either regen or shield healing. Sage (SGE) Barrier healer with damage-to-heal mechanics (added in Endwalker). Melee DPS (Close-range physical damage) Monk (MNK) Fast-paced, combo-heavy fistfighter with positionals. Dragoon (DRG) Jumps and spear attacks with long, flashy combos. Ninja (NIN) Uses mudras (hand signs) for ninjutsu and burst damage. Samurai (SAM) High-damage katana wielder with a focus on building Iaijutsu. Reaper (RPR) Scythe-wielding job with a demon avatar (added in Endwalker). Ranged Physical DPS (Flexible positioning, party utility) Bard (BRD) Bow user with songs that buff the party. Machinist (MCH) Gadgets, guns, and high personal DPS (no party buffs). Dancer (DNC) Support-focused with partner buffs and dance-based mechanics. Ranged Magical DPS (Spellcasters with varied utility) Black Mage (BLM) High burst damage with long cast times and fire/ice phases. Summoner (SMN) Simplified rotation with summoned primals (now more mobile). Red Mage (RDM) Balanced magic/melee attacks with quick rezzes. Blue Mage (BLU) Limited job (not for standard content) that learns enemy skills. Starting Classes & Job Unlocks All jobs start as a base class (e.g., Gladiator Paladin, Arcanist Summoner/Scholar). Jobs unlock at Level 30 after completing their class quests. Expansion jobs (e.g., Samurai, Sage, Reaper) start at higher levels (5070) and dont require a base class. Which to Choose? New players: Start with any class (roles are well-balanced). Easy to learn: White Mage, Dragoon, Dancer. Complex/high skill ceiling: Black Mage, Ninja, Astrologian. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
