Patch 11.0.5 Now Live
Major balance changes to all classes, new dungeon difficulty, and holiday events are now available. Check out the full patch notes for details.
Final Fantasy XIV in an 8-bit style would be a nostalgic and charming reimagining of the MMORPG, evoking the look and feel of classic NES or SNES-era Final Fantasy games. Heres what an 8-bit FFXIV might include: Visual Style: Pixel Art Sprites: Characters like the Warrior of Light, Alphinaud, Yshtola, and villains like Emet-Selch would be redesigned as chunky, expressive 8-bit sprites. Simplified Zones: Locations like Uldah, Gridania, and Limsa Lominsa would become top-down 2D maps with tile-based environments. Monsters & Bosses: Iconic enemies (Primals like Ifrit or Titan) would be pixelated with limited-color palettes but retain their signature attacks. Gameplay Mechanics: Turn-Based Combat: Instead of real-time action, battles could mimic FFIII or FFVs job-based, turn-based system. Class System: Jobs (Black Mage, Dragoon, etc.) would use simplified 8-bit abilities (e.g., "Fire" instead of "Fire IV"). Dungeons: Instances like "The Praetorium" would become side-scrolling platformers or maze-like dungeons with random encounters. Music: Chiptune Remixes: Masayoshi Sokens legendary soundtrack (e.g., Answers, To the Edge) would be rearranged in NES-style FM synthesis or Game Boy chiptune. Multiplayer? Local Co-Op: Instead of an MMO, it could be a 2-4 player couch co-op adventure with split-screen dungeons. Potential References: A mini-game in FFXIV itself (like the Manderville Gold Saucer) could feature an 8-bit demake as a homage. Would you play an 8-bit demake of FFXIV? (Fun fact: Square Enix released an official "8-bit" version of the FFXIV theme for its 10th anniversary!)

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
