The term "content drought" is often used by players when there's a perceived lack of new or engaging content between major patches in Final Fantasy XIV. With Patch 7.3 (expected in late 2024 or early 2025), the development team will likely aim to balance content pacing, but some players may still feel a lull depending on their playstyle. Potential Concerns for 7.3 Content Drought: Gap Between Major Updates - If 7.3 follows the usual 4-month patch cycle, players who exhaust content quickly (e.g., raid tiers, story, relic grinds) may feel a slowdown before 7.4. - The Dawntrail expansion (Summer 2024) will bring a surge of content, but the post-expansion patches (7.17.5) may have slower periods. Relic Weapon Grind Pace - If the 7.x relic quests follow a slow rollout (like Eureka Orthos or Bozja), players may feel a lack of meaningful long-term goals. Raid Tier Fatigue - The second Alliance Raid (7.3) and possible new Ultimate (if scheduled) will help, but players who clear early might face a wait for the next tier. Limited Side Content - If 7.3 lacks deep side activities (e.g., no new Deep Dungeon, Island Sanctuary updates, or exploratory zones), some may feel a lack of variety. How FFXIV Usually Mitigates Droughts: Staggered Content Releases: Story, raids, and side content are spread out. Catch-Up Mechanics: Gear upgrades (e.g., tomestone uncaps) keep casual players engaged. Seasonal Events & FATEs: Limited-time events and community-driven content (e.g., Fall Guys collab) fill gaps. Player-Driven Content: Housing, RP, and social activities help retain engagement. What to Expect in 7.3: Main Scenario Quest Continuation (likely wrapping up a major arc before 7.4). New Alliance Raid (Echoes of Vana'diel?) Part of the 24-man series. Relic Weapon Progression Possibly a new step. Potential QoL Updates Job adjustments, system tweaks. Limited-Time Event(s) Like the FFXVI crossover or seasonal festivals. How to Avoid Burnout: Take breaks between patches (Yoshida encourages this!). Explore older content (unfinished relics, mount farming, etc.). Engage with community activities (RP, screenshot contests, etc.). Try other gamesFFXIV is designed for intermittent play. Final Thoughts: While some players may perceive a "drought" in 7.3, FFXIV's design intentionally avoids overwhelming players with non-stop grind. If you're feeling the lull, it might be a good time to step back and return when fresh content drops. Would you like speculation on specific 7.3 content based on past patterns?

The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
