Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2: "Buried Memory" Overview Released on August 23, 2022, Patch 6.2 continued the post-Endwalker storyline and introduced new content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. Heres a breakdown of the key additions: Main Story Quests (MSQ) The saga of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn continued, delving deeper into the mysteries of the Thirteenth Shard (the Void) and the conflict involving Zero, a mysterious new ally. The story set the stage for future expansions, exploring themes of redemption and the balance between Light and Darkness. New Dungeon: The Fell Court of Troia A level 90 dungeon tied to the MSQ, featuring eerie aesthetics inspired by the Void and a climactic boss battle. New Trial: The Endsingers Aria (Extreme) A challenging Extreme version of the Endwalker final trial, offering high-end rewards. New Raid: Pandaemonium Abyssos (Savage) The second tier of the Pandaemonium raid series (Savage difficulty released a week later), featuring four new bosses: - P5S: Proto-Carbuncle - P6S: Hegemone - P7S: Agdistis - P8S: Hephaistos (with a phase transition to Hephaistos II) Island Sanctuary (New Feature) A solo/small-group casual content where players could build and manage their own island farm, gathering resources, crafting, and raising creatures. Featured a unique progression system with ranks, workshops, and rewards (including mounts, minions, and glamour). Job Adjustments Significant balance changes for multiple jobs, including buffs to Dragoon, Monk, and Summoner, and adjustments to tank/healer abilities. New Unreal Trial: Ultimas Bane (Unreal) A scaled-up version of Ultima Weapon from A Realm Reborn, offering Faux Hollows rewards. Other Additions New Side Quests: Tatarus Grand Endeavor (continuation) and Tales of Newfound Adventure. Glamour System Updates: Increased dresser capacity and new plates. Ocean Fishing Expansion: New routes and rewards. Crafting/Gathering Updates: New custom deliveries (Ameliance Leveilleur) and adjustments to macros. PvP Updates: Continued refinement of Crystalline Conflict. QoL Improvements Retainer inventory expansions. Adjustments to duty finder and loot rules. New UI options for controller/keyboard. Patch 6.2 laid important groundwork for future patches, including the Myths of the Realm alliance raid series (starting in 6.3) and deeper exploration of the Void. It balanced high-end raiding (Abyssos Savage) with casual content (Island Sanctuary), appealing to a broad player base. For detailed patch notes, check the official FFXIV website. The War Within brings so much fresh content to WoW. The new zones are absolutely stunning and the storyline is engaging. Been playing for 15 years and this expansion reignited my passion for the game.
The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
