Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer action RPG (ARPG) developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. While it shares many elements with traditional MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), it is not a full-fledged MMORPG in the classic sense. Heres a breakdown of its features and how it compares to MMORPGs: Key Features of Fallout 76: Online Multiplayer - Supports up to 24-32 players per server (smaller than most MMORPGs). - Persistent open world with shared events and public teams. Shared World & Events - Public events, world bosses (e.g., Scorchbeast Queen, Earle Williams). - Dynamic events encourage cooperative play. Character Progression & Builds - S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system (similar to single-player Fallout games). - Perk cards allow for flexible builds (e.g., stealth, heavy guns, melee). - Level cap is effectively infinite (after level 50, you can keep improving). Base Building (C.A.M.P.) - Players can build and customize their own settlements. - Vendors allow player-to-player trading. Questing & Story Content - Main questline (Wastelanders, Steel Dawn, etc.) with NPCs (added post-launch). - Side quests, daily ops, and seasonal events. Endgame Content - Expeditions (The Pitt). - Daily Ops (timed dungeon runs). - Nuke launches (trigger high-level zones). Monetization (Atomic Shop & Fallout 1st) - Cosmetic microtransactions. - Subscription (Fallout 1st) for private worlds, survival tent, scrap storage. How It Compares to MMORPGs: Feature Fallout 76 Traditional MMORPGs (e.g., WoW, FFXIV) Player Count 24-32 per server Hundreds per server Instancing Mostly open world, some instanced interiors Heavy instancing (dungeons, raids) Quests Mostly solo-friendly, some group events Group dungeons, raids required Economy Limited trading (no auction house) Auction houses, complex economies Endgame Events, expeditions, nuke zones Raids, PvP battlegrounds Progression Horizontal (perks, gear) Vertical (level cap increases) Is Fallout 76 an MMORPG? No, but it has MMO-lite elements. Its closer to a shared-world survival RPG (like Destiny 2 or The Division 2) than a true MMORPG. Lacks large-scale raids, guild systems, and massive player hubs. Should You Play It? If you like: - Fallouts lore and exploration. - Casual multiplayer with friends. - Base building and open-world survival. Avoid if you want: - Traditional MMORPG features (dungeon finder, guilds, massive raids). - Pure single-player Fallout (though private worlds help). Recent Updates (2023-2024) Expeditions: Atlantic City (new missions). Mutated Events (harder public events). QoL improvements (loadouts, perk management). Verdict: Fallout 76 is a fun multiplayer Fallout experience, but not a deep MMORPG. Its best enjoyed as a co-op survival RPG with occasional MMO elements. Would you like recommendations for similar games with more MMO depth?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
