Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

The learning curve in EVE Online is notoriously steep, often described as one of the most challenging aspects of the game. Heres why, along with tips to navigate it: Why is EVEs Learning Curve So Steep? Complex Mechanics EVE features deep systems like industry, trading, PvP, sovereignty warfare, and more, each with intricate rules. No Hand-Holding The game doesnt guide players much; you must seek knowledge from others or external resources. Sandbox Nature Theres no set pathplayers create their own goals, which can be overwhelming for newbies. High Stakes Losing ships can mean permanent destruction (permadeath for assets), making mistakes costly. Player-Driven Economy & Politics Understanding markets, scams, and alliance politics adds another layer of complexity. How to Overcome the Learning Curve Join a Newbie-Friendly Corporation - Groups like EVE University, Brave Newbies, Pandemic Horde, or Karmafleet offer mentorship, free ships, and structured learning. - Corporations provide protection, resources, and people to answer questions. Use External Resources - YouTube Tutorials (e.g., EVE is Easy, Captain Benzie) - EVE University Wiki (one of the best knowledge bases) - Third-Party Tools (e.g., Dotlan for maps, EVE Workbench for fits, zkillboard for intel) Start Small & Focus - Dont try to master everything at once. Pick one aspect (e.g., exploration, mining, mission running) and expand later. - Early skills should support your chosen playstyle (e.g., Drones for PvE, Propulsion Jamming for PvP). Accept Losses as Lessons - You will lose shipsits part of the game. Learn from mistakes instead of quitting. Train Core Skills Early - Navigation (Afterburner/MWD skills) - Tank (Shield/Armor skills) - Capacitor Management - Weapon/Drone Skills (depending on ship) Experiment in Low-Sec or Abyssals - Low-Sec (0.1-0.4) offers risk but less chaos than nullsec. - Abyssal Deadspace (PvE) teaches combat mechanics in a controlled environment. Avoid Scams & Trust Issues - EVE is full of scamsdont trust random contracts or "free ISK" offers. - Verify everything with corp mates before committing. How Long Does It Take to "Get Good"? First Month: Basic competence in one area (e.g., exploration, faction warfare). 6 Months: Comfortable with multiple playstyles (PvP, industry, etc.). 1+ Year: Deep understanding of meta, fleet tactics, and advanced mechanics. Final Advice Play with othersEVE is best as a social game. Dont rushskill training takes real time, but smart planning helps. Find funif grinding isnt enjoyable, switch activities. Would you like recommendations based on a specific playstyle (PvP, industry, exploration, etc.)?

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
