Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Of course. The relationship between Epic Games and Reddit is a fascinating and often contentious one. Heres a breakdown of the key communities, common topics, and the general sentiment you'll find. Main Subreddits r/FortNiteBR (The Giant): The largest and most active Epic-related subreddit, focused entirely on Fortnite Battle Royale. It's a mix of highlights, memes, news, suggestions, and occasional complaints about the meta. r/FortniteCompetitive: For the serious, ranked, and esports side of Fortnite. Discussions here are about strategies, mechanics, tournament results, and high-level gameplay critiques. r/EpicGamesPC: The main hub for discussions about the Epic Games Store (EGS). This is ground zero for debates about EGS exclusives, free game giveaways, and feature comparisons with Steam. r/rocketleague: Since Epic's acquisition of Psyonix, this subreddit is now de facto Epic-related. Topics often include discussions about Epic's changes to the game's economy, pricing, and competitive structure. r/UnrealEngine5: A community for developers and enthusiasts using Epic's game engine. This sub is generally more positive and technical, focused on tutorials, showcases, and help. r/fuckepic: The dedicated anti-Epic subreddit. It's a concentrated hub for criticism of Epic's business practices, particularly EGS exclusivity, and general distrust of the company. Common Topics & The Reddit Discourse Reddit's opinion on Epic is deeply polarized, often split along the lines of which of Epic's products you engage with. The Epic Games Store (EGS) - The Biggest Battleground The Criticism (Voiced strongly in r/pcgaming, r/fuckepic, and even r/EpicGamesPC): Exclusivity: The #1 complaint. Many Redditors view paying for third-party exclusives on PC as anti-consumer, limiting choice and fragmenting their libraries. Feature Lack: EGS is consistently criticized for missing basic storefront features like a shopping cart (a long-running meme), user reviews, forums, and robust community features. Tencent Ownership: Some users express distrust due to Epic's partial ownership by the Chinese conglomerate Tencent, citing data privacy concerns. The Defense (Common in r/EpicGamesPC and quieter elsewhere): Developer Revenue Split (88/12): Epic takes a much smaller cut than Steam's standard 70/30, which is praised as better for game developers. Free Games: The weekly free game offerings are hugely popular and seen as a major consumer-friendly benefit. Competition: Supporters argue Steam needs a serious competitor to innovate, and Epic is forcing that competition. Fortnite - A Love/Hate Relationship Positive: The subreddits are filled with fans celebrating the game's constant evolution, creative modes, and cultural impact. The collaboration events (Marvel, Star Wars, musicians) are usually big hits. Negative: Complaints flare up about: Monetization: The cost of skins, the battle pass, and the item shop. Balance & Meta: Changes to weapons, building mechanics, or the introduction of items that some feel lower the skill gap. "Sweats": The common complaint that the game has become too competitive for casual players. Unreal Engine - The Almost Universally Praised Aspect Reddit views Unreal Engine as Epic's crown jewel. It's seen as a powerful, accessible, and industry-leading tool that empowers creators. The release of UE5 was met with widespread excitement. Criticism here is usually technical and constructive. Acquisitions & Strategy Acquisitions like Bandcamp (and its later sale), Harmonix (Rock Band), and especially Psyonix (Rocket League) are watched closely. There's often anxiety about how Epic will change beloved games, with Rocket League's move to free-to-play and changes to its loot box system being prime examples. General Reddit Sentiment Summary Gamers/Consumers: Deeply divided. Many resent the EGS strategy but love the free games. Fortnite players are passionate but critical of in-game changes. Developers/Indie Fans: More positive towards Epic due to the generous revenue split, Unreal Engine's capabilities, and grant programs like the Epic MegaGrants. Overall: Epic is seen as a powerful, ambitious, and disruptive company. Reddit respects their technical prowess (Unreal Engine) and cultural impact (Fortnite) but is deeply skeptical of their storefront tactics and corporate strategy. The discourse is rarely neutralpeople tend to be either strong supporters or strong critics. If you're browsing: Know which subreddit you're in. r/UnrealEngine5 is a completely different world from r/fuckepic. The "Reddit opinion" on Epic Games is not monolithic; it's a collection of loud, conflicting voices from different corners of the platform.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
