Fantasy MMORPG PvE Raids Guilds

Of course. "Epic Games" can refer to several interconnected things. Heres a breakdown of what it most commonly means: The Company (Epic Games, Inc.) Epic Games is a major American video game and software developer and publisher founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney. It's headquartered in Cary, North Carolina. Key Figure: Tim Sweeney (CEO and majority owner). Major Investor: Tencent (holds a significant 40% stake). Reputation: Known for cutting-edge technology, a pro-developer stance, and challenging the status quo of digital storefronts. Its Flagship Product: Unreal Engine This is arguably Epic's most important and influential contribution to the industry. What it is: A premier game engine used to create 3D games and experiences. It's known for its high-fidelity graphics, powerful tools, and scalability. Business Model: Epic takes a 5% royalty on games after they earn over 1 million. This is significantly lower than the older industry standard. Usage: Used by AAA studios (for games like Fortnite, Gears of War, Final Fantasy VII Remake), indie developers, and even in film/TV (like The Mandalorian) for virtual production. Its Cultural Phenomenon: Fortnite Launched in 2017, Fortnite (specifically its free-to-play battle royale mode) became a global sensation. Impact: It popularized the battle royale genre, became a social platform, and pioneered the "metaverse" concept with in-game concerts (Travis Scott, Ariana Grande) and events. Business Model: Free-to-play with monetization through the in-game store selling cosmetic items (skins, emotes, etc.). It generates billions in revenue annually. The Storefront: Epic Games Store Launched in 2018, this is Epic's direct challenge to Valve's dominant Steam platform. Key Strategy: Generous Revenue Split: Offers developers an 88%/12% split, much more favorable than Steam's 70%/30%. Exclusive Titles: Secures timed exclusives for PC to attract users. Free Games: Gives away high-quality games weekly to build a user base. This has been a massive customer acquisition strategy. Major Initiatives & Controversies The Apple vs. Epic Games Lawsuit (2020): Epic sued Apple (and Google) over their 30% app store fees and payment restrictions. This was a landmark antitrust case, with mixed results. It challenged the control of mobile platform holders. The Metaverse Vision: Epic is a major investor in the concept of the metaverse, seeing Fortnite as a starting point. They have raised billions for this vision. Acquisitions: Has acquired key companies to bolster its ecosystem, including: Bandcamp (music platform) ArtStation (artist portfolio site) Sketchfab (3D model library) Harmonix (creators of Rock Band) RAD Game Tools (developer tools) In a Nutshell: Epic Games is a technology powerhouse that operates on three main pillars: Creation Tools (Unreal Engine) A Social Platform (Fortnite) A Digital Storefront (Epic Games Store) Its overarching strategy is to create an interconnected ecosystem that is more favorable to both developers and consumers, often by aggressively competing with established giants like Apple, Google, and Valve.

Great raids, some bugs

The new raid content is fantastic with challenging mechanics. However, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out. Overall a solid expansion that keeps me coming back for more.
